Bula Kavananda Kava Bar & Coffee House

Amazing atmosphere. Very inviting staff and customers. Great place to work too! So happy this great cafe is so close to home. Def will be returning!

I never had kava before and they provide a free sample and give a lovely education on it. It is a wonderful, relaxing drink.

Coffee, tea, and most importantly, kava. Bula boasts a chill atmosphere with comfy chairs, couches, and crannies to hide away or socialize.

Bula Kava & Coffee is a welcome addition to the neighborhood! The staff is friendly and the selection they had for the soft opening (kava and kratom) was really nice. Newcomers to kava and kratom will be in good hands here.
They've done a great job with this decor of this spot, and a nonalcoholic night hangout spot is really needed in the Heights. Parking is tight, so walking or biking would be an option for those nearby.

So we only go to Grassroots which is basically across the street but there was no parking so we decided to try Bula out and it is a very different place. So Grassroots is more open meant for talking and playing board games while Bula is meant to sit quietly and work like study but with very chill Stoner style vibes. Also the cover there is like at least three times as strong which is great but it's less of a communal fun place and more of a let's relax and unwind kind of place

It’s nice, but if you want to study or do work, DONT Come here on Sunday night. Loud music w/ DJ.
If smoking bothers you, AVOID this place!! The front porch is nice, until people go out on it smoking cigarettes and it gets all on you. Other than the smoking, it’s a great environment inside for a cozy coffee/ kava spot.

Good place. The music they play though isn’t the best. It’s usually very loud, and distracting, why not try some softer background music?

The cappuccinos are basically all milk. So if you ask for one, be sure see they adda full espresso shot and stop them before then pour the entire thing of milk in there.

Kris has been the most welcoming person. And the reason I have continued to come here!!! Every time I have come here he has continued to be overwhelmingly welcoming and pleasant to be around. He always makes time for a conversation and makes the BEST DRINKS EVER. I didn’t know what kava was before coming here and was a little skeptical, however, Bula has the best environment ever and I will be back

I don’t really get the hype. It’s a bit awkward when you first walk in everyone (including the barista) turns around and stares at you. The coffee was okay, nothing special. When my friend and I were done we threw the coffee away in the trash can and walked out the door. A barista then proceeds to open the window and shout at us that next time we need to put the coffee cups on the counter instead of throwing them away. He had a bit of a rude attitude, especially considering there were no signs saying not to throw the drink cups away (he even fished the disposable cups out of the trash can and showed us for some reason). There will be no next time for me as I don’t think I want to support such an unfriendly establishment, however, if you’re thinking of coming here make sure not to throw away your trash or you might get yelled at.

Poped in here because I was early to an appointment. Plenty of parking in the nearby neighborhood with a very short walk to the cafe. The tea and the cacao were perfectly prepared and the selection of kombucha was on point. Awesome vibe and super lit satff and patrons!

You cannot beat the atmosphere at this local, charming, Coffee and Tea house! The drinks are on par with the atmosphere, and the staff is amazing! Whether we're just relaxing with friends or cranking out work, Chris and Jason definitely keep it fresh with daily, curated, music playlists.
