Quality and consistency of the cooked food has gone down significantly in the last year it seems, cant comment on the rest of the menu because i dont really order anything else, coffee is not as rich as it used to be either it feels like. Still an okay joint to go to for studying with friends or the atmosphere.

I usually have a decent experience at sweet shop and really like their food but I have consistently seen one of the workers/owners be incredibly rude to customers. The last time I went my drink was made incorrectly and usually they have no problem fixing it. However, this time the worker making drinks yelled at me and then cursed at me and my boyfriend. This behavior is so unacceptable and so unprofessional. This is no way to talk to paying customers and as much as I enjoy their food, I don’t think anyone should let workers treat their customers in this manner. I have worked in customer service for many years and I can’t imagine ever disrespecting paying customers the same way this guy did.

I think it’s important for everyone looking to go to sweet shop to see the owners reactions based off previous reviews to see if this behavior is acceptable. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that should be respected! The owner has come on and attacked anyone who gives a negative opinion about their experience instead of learning and changing for the future. While that may not be ideal for his business that should point out the kind of person he is.
With that being said everyone needs to decide if they will overlook that for the food, drink, and convenience factors sweet shop offers.

Hey owner. Why don’t you get some help? You yell and scream and belittle people. People who only support you. Is this really who you want to be? I know you can change, but you have to shed that tough exterior. This isn’t healthy. Well, I wish you luck.

This is the BEST coffee shop ever, it’s my favorite. I love going here to study, the environment is great. Their coffee is the best coffee I’ve ever had (I love the iced Seminole) and the food is so good every time. The owners are also always so nice when I’ve been there as well as the workers. I love the sweet shop!!

The food is decent, a bit over-priced. The owner is rude, calling people "whitey" and "blackie" is not a great look. He takes good care of customers with disabilities which is nice to see. He needs more staff the one guy he has is working hard and he still finds more to complain to him at. Nice atmosphere. All of the "no loitering" signs feel hostile, I understand why he needs them but it feels unwelcoming. Not a bad place, but not 5 stars either.

I miss my grad school days at FSU! Perfect spot to study and hang right in the middle of campus next to all the sororities and fraternities and next to classes.
They have outdoor seating and a large seating area inside. The menu is quite extensive with something for everyone. They even have a plethora of bubble teas which are always amazing.
The owner is very nice and has been at FSU for many years. He is a staple small business there. He remembered me after 7 years! Support local dining stores, be respectful of their business (like not bringing outside food) and just enjoy something from their menu. The prices are amazing especially when you venture out of campus and in general with the pandemic still going on and crazy inflation.
Check it out!

I had an unpleasant interaction with who I assume is the owner/manager of the place. He very rudely and disrespectfully denied me service because I was with my service dog. He said they do not allow dogs, to which I responded that they have a sign outside their door saying only service animals allowed, I said she is a service dog and he said “I don’t care about your ESA” I proceeded to explain she is not an emotional support animal and tried to show him my Service Animal documentation which he denied looking at. He continued to raise his voice and cause a scene, so I left the premises. Not only is this prohibited under Florida Law but it is also prohibited under Federal Law. It is prohibited under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to exclude a service animal from entering establishments/businesses that are open to the public. Although I did not have her service vest on, not having something that visibly shows she is a working service dog does not take away from her being a service dog. A visible indicator like a vest or leash indicating my dog is a service animal is just a curtesy from the individual to others so that they are aware of the working dog but it is not required. Every service animal is trained differently to accommodate the individual in need, and no proof of training nor visual indicators can be requested either. I have been a supporter of this establishment for many years but the interaction I had today has left me in disbelief. There are ways to communicate and speak to people, especially customers, and what I encountered today was disrespectful, discriminatory and awful.

Manager is a horrible human being.Yelled at me for having a near empty Starbucks cup from 3 hours ago even though we paid for food and ate there. Publicly shamed me for having Starbucks like I didn’t just pay for food. Don’t go here, it’s not worth it. Used to come here twice a week, not anymore

The owner is super nice and always friendly and understanding.Going to sweet shop always makes my day and I’ve always had good experiences. The environment is super friendly and not to mention everything on the menu is delicious. The chicken panini is my go to, and the iced lattes and chai never disappoint, the flavors are all so good.
