Perq Coffee Bar

My family and I just vacationed in Sarasota and I thought I’d have to take a hiatus from my love of good coffee for a week. I was so wrong. Perq is just what I hoped I’d find in Florida. The quality of the drinks were second to none and the atmosphere reminded me of our hometown coffee scene in Philly with more friendly service. I’ll be frequenting this spot anytime I’m in Sarasota, and you should too!

If you love coffee look no further. The Perq Coffee Bar is outstanding. I have now visited this establishment three times. Every visit has being excellent. The customer service is outstanding. Great place to read or use your computer. In closing I have traveled all over the world and I rank the Perq Coffee Bar very high. It certainly ranks five stars and more. Looking forward to my next visit.

I was overwhelmed by the unique menu when I walked into Perq my first time. I explained to the man what I normally drink (latte with flavors) and he gave me his alternative (flat white, slightly sweet). I actually like it so much better than my usual. Their espresso flavor is so smooth. I went in with confidence a couple more times, knowing what to order now. I was greeted by the same smiling man with a friendly and professional demeanor each time I went in. I watched as he took care of his regular customers with rememberence of their "usual" orders. After a few visits I tried one of their breakfast specials to go... Toast with avacado, radishes, shaved boiled egg, and delicious spices. I've never had anything like it before and I loved it!! All of the flavors melded perfectly. The lady who brought it out had the same friendly attitude and great smile. After a couple more visits, I tried their "Ham Sammy" which was spiced deliciously with such unique flavors. Their menu is worth every penny. Unfortunately I won't be on that end of town in the mornings anymore, but I will definitely make an effort to go back again if I end up with a morning available. They're worth the drive for me. From the coffee to the food to their great attitudes ... I can't help but start my day with a smile if I've been to Perq first.

This place on Hillview is next level. It’s consistently the best.

My wife and I came in about two weeks ago to try the coffee and I had to investigate if these were coffee people. There are a lot of coffee shops that know nothing about coffee. These guys were awesome. My wife’s words were “he speaks your language.” The cold brew, the espresso, and the people are excellent! I’ll be back every time I’m in the area!

If you are a coffee nerd, this unique coffee bar is pure heaven. You'll never find a coffee experience like this establishment offers. The proprietors take special care to purchase freshly roasted limited production coffee beans from privately-owned plantations. The quality obsession pays off in some of the most unique smells and flavors you'll ever encounter in the coffee world. I had an espresso that started off with a fruity quality, morphed into milk chocolate nuances and finished with brandy. The barista is happy to share a wealth of knowledge. Make sure to try the sinfully delightful pastries. You'll love the interesting wood interior and the unusual coffee drink-making hardware. This place is worth a trip if you are a coffee enthusiast!

Best coffeehouse in the state. There's not even a coffee place in Chicago this good. Do not go in expecting Starbucks but don't be intimidated or put off. This is seriously good coffee made to exact standards. They use different names for the drinks and there are five different brewing methods. It's not snobby it's just different than what you're used to. Hang out with a Flat White and have fun. Great music too.

Perq makes Sarasota so much better! Perfect place when me and my husband or a girlfriend want to perk right up. Always leave feeling refreshed. Clean flavored coffees, from sweet to robust, and awesome dessert choices. Don't like sugary bites? They carry a delicious savory egg custard choice, but you have to ask. A great business. Grateful to have them in the 'hood.

My wife and I were looking for a nice place to have a cup of coffee after date night. We decided we would try Perq. We aren't really into the precocious, hip coffee shops, but we do enjoy and appreciate good coffee. When we entered Perq we were met by a very friendly gentlemen behind the counter who proceeded to educate us on their particular style of coffee and concoctions. Normally this is where myself and my wife would be turned off and leave. He talked to us - not down to us - and helped us choose a good drink. I was thrilled with the information he gave us and the coffee was FANTASTIC! Best I have had in Sarasota. The prices were great, even slightly lower than what you expect to pay in an establishment of this calibre. My wife and I will definitely return to Perq and I would whole-heartedly recommend it to my friends and associates!
