If you're looking for a comfortable, quiet, friendly place to enjoy a cup of coffee, Hillcrest is the place to go. Great seating and super fun decor; definitely bring some friends with you and take advantage of the great atmosphere.
The only reason I've held back from five stars is because I've noticed that their espresso drinks can be inconsistent. Sometimes delicious and well balanced, other times a little too milky. They've got a great selection of drinks for all of your espresso and coffee needs, but I always default to an iced latte.
The staff is super friendly and more than happy to offer recommendations. I'll definitely be back!

Fun evening of Lacy O'Connor singing her original, enchanting songs in a coffee shop that felt like home!

Great place to get coffee and tea, their bagels and quiche are great too. Becoming a regular weekend spot for me.

Brian is one of the best business owners in Lakeland. You can tell he loves what he does and it’s more about to him than anything else. He is incredibly kind and accommodating. The coffee is great and the atmosphere is great. Good place to study or work with fast internet. Usually plenty of places to sit inside.

Great little place with live music. I will happily be attending again, the only reason for 4/5 stars is there's not many kid friendly beverages. Coffee, milk, and tea is pretty much it. Either way we will be back, just wish there was a broader drink selection.

It's got good coffee, supports local artists and has friendly staff. Definitely a great place if you need a break from the world.

Cute. A house converted into a coffee shop. The epitome of a homey atmosphere.
Environmentally friendly. Because they use all their own dishes and cups for in house goods, they don't go through much trash. The barista told me they only use one regular sized kitchen trash can a week in trash.

Great little coffee shop in a quiet setting. Not too much in the way of food, but good atmosphere and service.

Great service, excellent drinks and baked goods. I have found though that it's virtually impossible to find a table as people come in and take up the large tables with work (not that it's the shops fault) but if you have more than one person in your party, prepare to sit outside.

Hillcrest is a great little coffee shop with a wonderful atmosphere and excellent coffee. The owner, Brian, has done a superb job of bringing his vision to life in creating a place where one can relax and enjoy high - quality coffee without the "coffee-snobbish" feel often encountered in similar quality establishments. It feels more like home. Brian has led by example and successfully instilled a culture of consistently warm, genuine hospitality in his employees, such that regardless who is behind the counter, every customer will be treated like family. Incredible destination. If you haven't been, you should.
