The Local

We went to the Local for brunch on Saturday and it was a fantastic experience all around. It wasn't too crowded, and our waitress Brittany did an amazing job taking care of us. The Gumby plate and the Hot Chicken and Waffle were both delicious, and they had kids options as well. And the coffee was delicious and high quality, which can be tough to find! Overall a perfect place for brunch.

The food was very good. The french fries were among the very best I've had in Jacksonville. They are the kind that has the egg wash coating, and it makes them very crispy. They were done perfectly. I got the chicken club, and the chicken was just right - tender and juicy and crispy bacon. The service was great, no complaints. The only reason why I didn't give it five stars is because the menu was very limited. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the wait staff were friendly and attentive.

It wasn't too busy at the time we went there. Girlfriend and I had the grilled chicken sandwich. Was nothing special that would bring me back. Zuchinni fries were pretty amazing though.

The waitress was very sweet, but the people that brought our food spilled my fries on me, said "My bad" and walked away.

Good to stop in for a quick bite but not good enough to repeatedly visit.

Excellent dinner entree, great flavors. Reasonable prices.

The salmon on quinoa was delicious. It was very busy during weekday lunch, so get there early! I've had grubhub delivered from here as well. I would recommend the salmon sandwich or salmon salad with lemon vinaigrette. Both are yummy!

The food was good but my bun was burnt and the fries are cold and the hamburger was undercooked.

Took nearly 15 minutes for a waitress visit after seating myself. After ordering, medium well burger, I noticed the two gentlemen that came in well after me were already receiving their checks. Wow... I got my medium well burger, which after taking two bites was too bloody for me. It was good an obvious medium rare. Yuck. Fries were good. Got one refill. Too much competition in the area to consider revisiting or recommending.
