Curia On The Drag

its 9:45 am, the sign on the door says open but everything is dark and locked. hours posted and online say open at 7am...

Edit* as I was leaving, I ran into two employees. I asked if they knew why Curia wasn't open, pointing out the open gate and the sign on the door. Because were closed, they said. I told them at least 5 people had come by since I'd been there and tried to open the door then left. They replied, its because we are closed. Seriously, Sherlock? Not impressed by this staff, definitely not feeling the hospitality, and definitely disappointed that I drove across town for this.

Local unique setting with plant based restaurant and lots of places to sit outside. Friendly employees.

Can’t remember the exact name of the item, but I ordered a cheese filled bagel bite and it was super delicious— I would highly recommend it. However, I wouldn’t recommend the coffee. I got a latte and I didn’t really like it (definitely not as bad as Starbucks but still not a great cup of joe). Super cool that this place is vegan though! Maybe I’ll give the coffee another try.

I’ve eaten here many times, and the food is great. It has a great outdoor setting, you can bring your dog and hang out, very nice. For a vegan the menu is great, and the pastries are fantastic. Highly recommend.

This place was great! Love the atmosphere here. Food was good. Good for adults and kids. A lot of vegan restaurants don't have vegan friendly food for kids. I would go back.

Ditch Starbucks and get local coffee instead! All their drinks are tasty, and they have a wide variety of milks/milk substitutes, which is awesome. Baked good are also available and super tasty. Cute decor and outdoor seating is available as well. Dividers are in place at the register due to Covid-19.

Great space for work, reading, sketching, or hanging out with friends. They always have freshly baked items and amazing tea and coffee. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a food truck so you have everything you need to have a productive time!

I've been avoiding Curia lately because their gratuity system makes me uncomfortable. Coffee is decent and the vegan treats are excellent, but in light of COVID the barista has all control of the checkout tablet and verbally asks if you want to leave a tip. Additionally, the auto-calculated tip presented to you is on your full order, so say you get a drip coffee and a salad (~$10), the lowest tip option presented to you is 15% of your total bill. Unless you give them a custom amount, which makes you feel uncomfortable, you'll end up tipping $1.50 on a $2.00 drip coffee. I wish they would go back to a cash only tipping system or at the very least not essentially verbally request a tip.
