I went to Sidamo around noon today with the plan of doing a couple hours of work on my laptop. I have been to the coffee and tea shop a couple of times before but always on a weekday. After I ordered, I sat down at one of the many empty tables and pulled out my laptop. I barely had time to open my web browser before the owner came over to me and said he would allow me to stay for 1 hr and then I had to leave. He went on to say that on the weekends he does not allow people to do work there because " you spend $5 and then are here all day. If 8 of you come and use each of the tables then I make what $50, can I pay my light bill with $50?" Both his math and customer service skills are off. I told him ok and went to the counter to retrieve the pastry I ordered. He followed me over to say that I needed to wrap up what I was doing and if I wanted, I could go to the backyard area and work from one of the tables there. He emphasized that I had already used up 15 minutes of the 1 hr he had allotted me so I needed to move quickly. I collected my pastry, packed up and left. To stay would have been interpreted as consent for how I was spoken to and treated.
I understand running a small business is hard but if there are constant issues such as people working on their laptops during the weekend and taking up space, then he could implement simple solutions such as signage on the tables and other visible areas that let customers know that you can't do work there on the weekends and there are time limits for the tables. He lacks effective communication skills which I believe is critical to running a business. I am also disappointed by this experience because I was hoping to introduce family and friends to it when they visit the area. 0/10, would not recommend.

WORST SERVICE EVER. We ordered breakfast sandwiches, they're out of croissants, but didn't tell us, but charged us extra $.50 for everything bagel. We only realized after we paid and got the receipt.
We were just waiting to get our food and got yelled at by the cashier, something like "What are you doing? Go sit down and wait, we have a lot of customers, it's gonna be 20 minutes"
20 MINS FOR SOME SANDWICHES?????
A server came out and told us they're out of everything bagel and there's only plain bagel left.
Finally, the cashier delivered and YELLED at us.

My sister and I didn't get to try the coffee. Heard good things about this place and decided to stop by after a workout. Before we visited Sidamo, we went to Whole Foods to buy soup and other items. Then we entered Sidamo and placed our Whole Food bags and backpack at a table so we could order our coffee at the counter. But before we could order our drinks from the barista, a man sitting at one of the tables, possibly the owner or manager, said something to us that we didn't fully understand. He either said no Starbucks or no service, not really sure. Maybe he was confused and thought the Whole Foods soup container was a Starbucks cup. The vibe/atmosphere of this coffee shop was incredibly unfriendly, the man was belittling, and both my sister and I felt very uncomfortable. I'm sure the coffee is great here however we were unable to order because the man was very unwelcoming. Do not recommend this place.

Always delicious coffee (especially the Morning Chai), and the lentil sandwich for lunch is delicious. The food can take a while to come out if they are busy, so sit down and relax--it's worth the wait!

This coffee shop nailed it when it comes to cozy vibes. There are comfy couches, chairs, and plants everywhere. The staves are nice and the atmosphere overall is wonderful. All of the staff were really accommodating and personable. Their coffee is good and one of a kind. I highly recommend this place to all coffee addicts.

The older man (owner) is very rude and crotchety. I felt unwelcome as a customer. He actually seems to dislike most customers and is only pleasant to friends or family that come into the cafe. He also seems personally offended if you ask any questions about the menu whatsoever. I gave 2 stars because the chai latte is very good and their breakfast sandwiches are generally decent. The other workers that run the counter and fill the orders are always very nice and friendly so its unfortunate that his rudeness overshadows their efforts. I won't be returning.

Great place to hang out! It gives me a different kind of comfort every time I visited this coffee shop. I am such a huge fan of their iced mocha. This place is really worth visiting alone or with your friends and family. No one can beat their excellent customer service, good coffee, and affordable prices. Highly recommended!
