Coffee was tasty, but it took quite a bit longer than I expected to get a double shot of espresso - over five minutes from order - and the place was not busy.

This is a little gem to share with your friends. The decor is charming and modern. Thus is a full-service restaurant for dinner, lunch and brunch. The service is top drawer in a small venue where the people at the seated section get the same service they would at the best restaurants. Food here is farm to table, sea to table and each dish has surprising flavors. Eat gourmet for the same or less than you would pay at a chain reataurant. Pastries and bread are baked in house. If you want a quick pastry and coffee or tea they are set up to get you in and out fast.

Mediocre food. No subs. $4 for a side of avocado? $6 for a side of bacon? An omelette order requesting no mushrooms meant all the mushrooms?

Wi-Fi says 5 bars but there’s no real connection on my laptop or iPhone. I already paid for parking and food, so this is a bummer when I came to get work done.

I stopped here for a cappaccino on the morning of New Year's Eve. The staff was eager and friendly and my drink was hot and flavorful. Parking is a drag but the venue is large and comfortable and well suited for a mutltitude of events from a first meeting, morning after a run, family get together, studying, or contemplation of the lesser of two evils. You can definitely find something to your liking in the showcase of sweet confections.

The breakfast sandwich is amazing. My son really liked the muffin and the coffee was great. I'm not in that part of town often but I'm glad I stopped by

Black Coffee is a great concept with delicious fresh pastries & smooth, freshly brewed coffee. On the regular menu, Calamari is fresh & lately fried. And the Amish Chicken is to die for. BC is a must dine in DC.

Best breakfast sandwich in the city!

Excellent food, nicely presented. Efficient, pleasant service, charming owner, unduly modest manager who runs a great ship

My go-to for breakfast. Scrambled eggs and bacon, can't loose! If you're there for lunch, get the burger... One of only places in the area worth the money on an amazing burger.
