One of my favorite places sort of in DC. The food-from the sides of potatoes to the gluten free vegan pastries -is delicious(the breakfast sandwich is especially good.) The staff is friendly even when faced with a long line of uncaffeinated customers, while the atmosphere relaxed and non assuming. Their counter drinks are well crafted, but so is their plain old coffee (which to me is almost more important.) It's a neighborhood haunt, and a hidden gem.

One of my favorite coffee shops in DC! Great variety of delicious beverages and food - amazing pastries and great coffee. Highly recommend the cheese biscuits. There is lots of comfortable seating both inside and outside, and when I’ve ordered food it has always been brought out quickly.

I am obsessed with this place. There are days when I go twice a day. Excellent coffee and chai, delicious pastries, lovely lunch. I especially love the romaine salad - I like to add the buttermilk chicken tenders. Nom nom.

Great for weekend breakfast. Pancakes are always good and the vegetarian breakfast bowl is my favorite. Rise Up coffee is delicious. Patio seating is spacious and comfortable.

The food and coffee were delicious. I had a breakfast sandwich with bacon and it was just how I like it - runny egg, perfectly cooked bacon (not too crispy), yummy brioche bun. I got an oat milk cortado and a late for my friend to go.
The reason I don't give 5 stars - it took forever for the drinks. It was about 10am, so not rush hour, but they were busy. 2 baristas working. I used to be a barista, so I get it. But the barista was grumpy when I checked with her about whether the drinks on the counter were mine. I also wasnt given a number for my drinks or told where to pick up my food, so my food sat in a corner on a table or of sight until I figured it out. I waited about 15m for my 2 drinks. Overall not totally smooth running and took way too long to get my to-go drinks. But I'll go back bc the food was so good!

This restaurant is fantastic. I stop frequently for coffee and pastries to go and bring my family on Sundays for breakfast before the Palisades farmer's market. The staff are friendly and hard-working. All of the menu items that we have tried are delicious. In 6 months of regular visits, we have had only exceptional experiences. This is exactly the sort of place that was needed in the neighborhood.
