Mel has created a warm and friendly atmosphere. She greets every customer like an old friend and is genuinely interested in them. She takes the time to learn what customers like, and if they are regulars, often has their drinks started before they walk in the door. I have witnessed this on many occasions and it is one of the reasons I will continue to visit The Bean.

Nice local coffee place. Owner and staff are great and they've really expanded the outdoor area during these COVID times to accommodate patrons. Highly recommended.

Drink local! Nice shop with good coffee and tasty bakery items. It's a good place to sit and drink coffee. During warmer weather they have chairs out front. The cafe has a conversational area with a sofa and several two seater tables.

The Bean is such a wonderful little coffee shop. The owner, Mel, and all of the staff are so friendly. Coffee is amazing, and they have a bunch of other goodies to choose from. Definitely a favorite.

Great people, great community, great food and drinks. Such a cozy place to sit down with a good book or visit with a friend. Service is wonderful. Mel (owner) is the best. Must stop place if visiting Windsor!

The Bean @226 is a great place to grab a sandwich and a coffee. The owner is super friendly and made me feel like a regular here. If you’re in Windsor, CT definitely stop by here. I had the #1 on the sandwich menu with a capppucino and both were excellent. 5 stars for sure.

Love this spot! I stop in 1 or 2 times a week to grab a coffee a snack and study for a while. It’s I nice spot to just get a bit of work done. The owner & staff are super cool and friendly and will mostly likely talk to you. Great addition to downtown Windsor!

This place is awesome! over 25% of the population is gluten intolerant. I am, enjoy a breakfast sandwich & coffee with almond milk. Their stuff tastes really good and not unreasonably overpriced..
We need this, forget the FDA who is 50% funded by the food companies who are poisoning the American people so they can make more money.

Mel Madigan ventured out in November, 2017 to bring to Windsor, CT the coffee culture that's a step above the crowd. With everything from traditional espresso drinks to French and Italian sodas, to awesome pastries, incuding biscotti, and breakfast All Day, and lunch salads and sandwiches, Mel has nailed the coffee shop eats and drinks we all want. I even had a choice of dairy or 3 different non-dairy creamers- soy, almond and oat milk, for my Earl Grey tea choice.

The coffee is unusually good, and the service, normally, is super fast. Except for a bit of noisy dishes clattering mid-afternoon, this is also a great little casual meeting spot.

Enjoyed the local and Cuban art displayed as well.

We enjoyed more than one meeting time here, and will return.
