So let me start by saying, I went back and the other restaurant I gave 5 stars I switched to 4. Because this place is just a different level.
Hostesses when we arrived early to see if we could get a spot at the bar early. They were so kind and welcoming.
We sat at the bar, which if you’re able and Vince is working- you get a wonderful experience!! It was my sisters birthday and we were celebrating a job promotion. Everyone we encountered at the restaurant congratulated my sister!
Food. Wow. We did the wine pairing as well which was worth it.
Just come ready to eat and enjoy because there is so much to enjoy. Our menu and the pairing we had just made for a memory I’ll never forget. Of course, we also ordered the fried chicken- which wow!
I was so excited to try a Thomas Keller restaurant- we did his master class (the brined chicken!), he clearly trains and works to ensure his restaurants provide an experience and taste. Both were met. I really hope everyone has the opportunity to go here if possible.
Also ask about the blue apron beer. I don’t even like beer but after hearing the story I really wanted to try!
Thank you again such a great memory- I’ll be back!

Went to get the famous Thomas Keller fried chicken for pickup and wasn't disappointed. Easy ordering through toasttab. It was ready and piping hot right at my pick up time. Very aggressive use of rosemary but doesn't detract from an expertly seasoned/fried chicken experience.

Ad Hoc is a some what casual establishment, with a pre-set menu served family style.
The service is wonderful and attentive.
The food is stellar esp for the price point.

I would love to have eaten here, as myself and three friends made a special trip. We had reservations, but were told the prix fixe menu for the day was steak. Myself and my friend do not eat red meat. The hostess suggested I cancel my reservations and just eat at the bar, and that would be super easy and not a problem as we could order the fried chicken then. We arrived at around 1:30 and were told it would be 30-45 minutes. Which was fine. We returned when we had not heard from the restaurant after an hour. At which point the hostess had seated two sets of two's who had just arrived at the bar...instead of the 4 of us who had already waited an hour. At which point she said it was just easier to seat 2 people and we would have to continue to wait. She stated a couple was just finishing up and we would be seated in 10 min or so. We decided to wait...after another 45 minutes, and her seating another walk in of 2 we decided it was ridiculous and left. Its unfortunate that you cannot just have the fried chicken at the tables, but instead have to order the prix fixe menu and the chicken is then a $30 add on. I am sure its great, but the customer service is definitely lacking.

We love the attention our server pays to each table. Although menu is fixed daily, they can easily swap out ingredients to dietary needs and also variety. We had the wine pairing as well and that worked out well with the food.

Thier portion is big. Everyone is expected to order a set of you sit at a table. You can share sets or do a la carte if you sit at the bar.
Fried chicken is not always available. Call them or checkout the daily menu. The last time I can they provided fried chicken while its not on the menu.

Great staff really good food clean. Worth the money if you are a real foodie. Cheeseboard could have been more desirable. Macaroni and cheese would have complemented fried chicken better than collard greens or potato salad.

We have been served a huge plate of potatoes at the beginning and have been staring at this plate for the next 30 mins. The menu is fixed so we only got potatoes, fried pork, cheese and desert for 90 dollars per person. The foods are oily. The deserts are extremely sweet and not delicately made.

A casual eatery by chef Thomas Keller (French Laundry) with a prix fixe 4 course menu that changes daily. Their well known and Fried Chicken is served on Monday's. Reservations are required.

This was just... disappointing. I was really looking forward to our night out here and left wishing I had ended up somewhere else. For the per person cost, it felt like very average courses. Not that anything tasted bad, but I feel like my whole family paid $70 per person for a salad and beef stew dinner. What we've been enjoying about eating "family style" is ordering a selection of entrees and everyone gets to try a plethora of that restaurant's menu, and this is pretty much the opposite of that. I was also disappointed that there were no NA mocktail drink options. Maybe it's just not our style, and that's okay, I just wouldn't choose this place in the future.
