The best bagels in town hands down - and a great assortment of pastries. Nitro cold brew is awesome as well.

Super busy place but makes sense cause this coffee is delicious! Got a macchiato (euro style, no other way to get it really) and it was probably the best I’d ever had. Great atmosphere, nice employees and good ambiance.

Wish I would have come sooner!!! Great coffee reasonably priced. The service was fantastic greeted by the sweetest lady when I gave my order coffee was ready fast with super cute latte art and when my cup was empty someone came and grabbed it for me. Overall awesome staff ,great latte, cool set up/ location. Will definitely be back!

Did a quick stop at handlebar before a road trip to Monterey. Though, I didn't offer any coffee, which is what they were known for, the pastries were great. Prices of the pasties are a bit high though (roughly $3-$4 per piece). The customer service was awesome. Super friendly people behind the counter. Definitely worth a visit if your in the Santa Barbara area.

Moved to Los Angeles from Brooklyn last May. This is by far the best coffee we’ve had since arriving. Remarkably consistent - making it well worth the drive from Los Angeles and ranked as one of our favorite coffee shops in the world.

Great coffee shop with vegan drink options as they have oat milk (oatly) and almond milk (califa barista). If you are jot a coffee drinker, there is a matcha latte available and it is unsweetened by default which is awesome.

This is my very favorite coffee shop. I travel all over the country for work but I come to Handlebar every time I'm in Santa Barbara!

Somehow their downtown shop doesn't seem to be run well (while I love the one on De la Vina). They were not prepared for the crowd hitting them today, on about the 4th regular Saturday after the ease of lockdown: huge line, then an even longer wait for the coffee, which one can't hear being called out in the noise, they have no baked goods left at 11am, and I never got the cookie I think I paid for, but can't check because I got no receipt...

Update as of July 2019 - coffee and pastry are good, nice patio - but service is S-L-O-W. And it's the cashiers, more than the baristas. And it's not that the cashiers are working slow - but there is almost never more than one (unless you want non-expresso drinks). I left the place recently, with 6 or 8 people still in line in front of me - probably took 3 orders in the 5+ minutes I was there. Today was better, but only because the line was shorter.

We don't go here often, but did stop in after the Saturday Farmer's Market a few blocks away. Busy but not jammed pack. Great coffee: a hot latte for my wife, and an iced one for me, along with a scone to share. Sat outside and enjoyed the Santa Barbara vibe. Terrific!

The friendliest staff ever. You walk in and it smells so good! My boyfriend had the iced matcha and I had a hot tea. I was very happy walking out of there. :)
