Scout Coffee is dreamy! Their homemade wilderness flavor is unique and delicious. A+ decor, ambience, customer service, and clean restrooms.
Can't wait to come back next time I'm in SLO

Hip coffee joint near Cal Poly. Bigger than the other Scout downtown. Fun (but very pricey) swag. I got a salted caramel mocha. It was smooth yumminess.

If anthropology had a coffee shop, it would be just like Scout. I daydream about the spicy butterscotch latte. My daughter also drinks her steamers to the very last drop. Delicious!!!

Things are looking up! Still inconsistent on the sugar-free stuff but this is a coffee shop and people like sugar.

Customer service was great. The atmosphere is a little dull. Bakery items are great, non-coffee beverages are okay. A tad overpriced

Ah, Scout Coffee Co. This review is based off my now several visits. I am intrigued by people's fascination with this place because honestly its not that great if you compare it with other places. Even Starbucks seems better in my honest opinion.
Pros:
The vibe/music is better than starbucks crappy music
Interesting cupware
The open space is nice but limits seating
Big windows provide nice views/natural light
Most staff are friendly or cool
Wifi seems good so far
Location next to Lassens and across from Rite Aid creates possibilities to eat and buy doodads
Cons:
Buy something or you may be asked to leave (even if few people are there)
No electrical outlets is a major incovenience and the main reason I would go elsewhere
Pricey i.e. an 8 ounce glass of almond milk is $3.50
Almond milk tastes watered down which is not good considering its made in house
Hard sitting chairs/benches provide for uncomfortable visits and the few comfortable looking chairs are also uncofortable
Needs more places to sit
No mirror in bathroom is lame
Too many people go there

This Scout location has a great energy. If you're searching for a coffee shop that feels more intimate, try Scout's downtown location (or another shop, like Kreuzberg) with its smaller, more relaxed cafe. But to say this location isn't intimate does not disparage its appeal. Each spot's unique ambiance fits their locations. This spot, closer to Cal Poly, Cuesta College, and college housing, is bright, open, and plays its music louder. You'll find lots of college students on laptops, but it still has a versatile mix of clientelle. So if you're not there to study, you won't feel out of place. I have met here for a work meeting and have enjoyed a treat with my three-year-old and felt comfortable on both visits. The service is friendly and efficient. And thr food, from unique items to more traditional coffee house fare, and beverages are delicious. "Scout #2" is a welcome addition to SLO's coffee-shop-saturated market.

The wait can be long at times but well worth it for me! My favorites are a honey tea bowl with a dark chocolate raspberry scone!

The coffee is great, but the pastries are incredible! One of the best places to get coffee and a snack in SLO
