Love their gluten free bakery items! Best banana nut muffin I have had in a long time. We love their coffee, too.

Really nice feminine, hipster-decorated coffee shop. Espresso is good quality.
Prices are pretty steep for their non coffee (ex:32.00 for a small poster.)

I mean it's coffee, and convenient, so they'd have to try pretty hard for me to give less than 4 stars. Why not 5? Because it's a bit sterile, kind of just-another-coffee-shop. The wait time always seems longer than it should be.

Its THE BEST coffee shop! Their almond milk lattes are next level - once you have one another will never compare!

As anyone who knows me (and even my past review on their Garden St location) can attest, I adore Scout. Simply the best coffee, pastries, and atmosphere. They are a business I felt very strongly about supporting during this time of covid-19.
However, I was extremely disappointed on my last visit to find the people working there not wearing face masks, disregarding the current recommendations from all public health officials. It is irresponsible, when handling food/drink that others will be consuming, to not have your nose and mouth covered. It isn't about protecting *you*, it's about protecting *others*.
One last note in case it helps anyone else - their online ordering system leads you to believe that it will notify you via text when your order is ready. Don't believe it; you have to walk up and give them your name before they'll make your order.

Scout no more for a good cup of coffee in SLO. This bright, sunny, youthful, happy place, makes you want to come back again and again. They do a great job on their coffee, tea, and other drinks. Their array of tempting desserts, steers one away from their diet. Watch the friendly baristas artfully dressed your drink. Or browse around the store for a unique treasures.
Drink in hand, now comes the hard part. Finding a seat, nobody wants to leave this heaven of caffeine.

Reviewing the cold brew from here: 0/5
Putting 4 stars to keep it neutral, but i just want to say as kindly as possible that the cold brew is really really bad. Overpriced to start. It was chalky and dull, couldn't taste much after it was watered down from the ice since it was stored in room temperature. I understand that buissinesses are struggling, and im tryna be supportive but there's no reason to mess up cold brew.
Plus no sippy lid, so you need to get an extra plastic straw with it.

They obviously put an exponentially greater amout of effort into creating the look of the coffee shop than they do in making their drinks. I ordered a hot chocolate and I watched the worker make it. I ordered it to go and he made it in a regular coffee mug once he was finished he realized his error and poured the drink into a to go cup. Well now the to go cup was only half full so he just steamed more milk and added to an already watered down hot chocolate. Thanks for the warm milk. The pour over was also mediocre at best.

If you ever imagined yourself approaching a rather attractive person and asking them on a date to grab a cup of coffee, this is the place to take them. That is only if you want to impress. Free wifi, plenty of seats, ambient music, large coffee bar, simple yet plentiful menu, excellent staff, great service, do I need to go on? Yes I do.
The coffee here is pricey, no doubt about that. This place makes Starbucks® look like a McDonald's®. That being said, I do believe, as frugal as I am, that this place is worth it. I secede that Scout Coffee's® method of asking for a tip on top of an expensive cup of Joe is overkill, especially when your tip is asked for via their point-of-sales machine up front while purchasing your beverage. What about when you tip $3 and don't end up getting a $3 tip worth service?
Regardless, despite the pricing, I still remain to what I originally stated, this is a great place to get inspired while sipping on coffee. If you are into Instagramming every meal and moment, this location has great natural lighting as well as a chic, city style decor along with an industrial twist. Whatever vibe you are going for, there is a wall for it here. Ask somebody on a date and bring them here. Ten bucks to knock her socks off? That's a deal.
