Favorite place to eat in SLO when driving down 101 from Bay Area to LA.

Decent Vegan selection. I had the rice noodles with tofu and veggies...very good!❤️

Been eating here for years, their food is usually very good. This trip, I was disappointed with the service, our waiter was lousy. Overall, it was good but not the best experience.

We ordered two hamburgers, one soup, a Cubno sandwich and two appetizers (hummus plate and tempura cauliflower). The two hamburgers and Cubano were fine, but my wife only consumed about a quarter of the soup leaving the rest finding it unsatisfactory. The alleged tempura cauliflower was not as advertised. Tempura is dipped in a light batter and fried. These were just fried a little with no batter, definitely not tempura. The most disappointing were the sweet potato fries. They arrived barely warm and very soft. It looked like they were baked, not fried, and left out to long before serving.

Great place! scrambled eggs were very good, breakfast burrito was huge and great. Nice outdoor dining. Spacious and inviting. Highly recommended

Pancakes are fantastic. Portions are generous, they don't mess around. A must visit if you're in the area.

(One of the photos I marked as "brisket", but it's actually lamb shank. Sorry! I'm a vegetarian and not good with identifying meat! :)
Great creative, delicious food with a wide range of choices. I had the seared ahi appetizer. It had a lot going on with an avocado, Wasabi mousse, cumcumbers, edamomi, and several seaweeds. Lots of flavors but none overwhelming the other and the ahi was cooked beautifully. For my main, I had a grilled shrimp salad (I wanted Thai marinated catfish, but they were out :( ). There was a surprising amount of shrimp and the ginger dressing was perfectly lightly added. (without requesting, nice!)
If you like bold flavors, this isn't the place for you, but if you like playful combinations of flavors using quality food, you'll enjoy the range of choices. My daughter got the lamb shank and was drooling as soon as she saw it. She wasn't disappointed, it tasted as yummy as it looked.
We also got the lobster mac 'N cheese to bring home (too many great choices to limit ourselves!) The portion was HUGE. Unfortunately, it had bacon on it. As a pescatarian, I wasn't able to sample, but she thought it was great! (And she's an expert when it comes to Mac 'N cheese.)
We finished with the dessert special, apple cider bourbon cake. YUM! I wasn't thrilled with the texture of the cake (a biy dry) but all together it was well done. There was a thin layer of butter cream that added moisture to the cake (I assume the pastry chef realized the cake was a bit dry, maybe). And topped with what I'd guess to be a butterscotch "frosting" the was firmer than frosting. The balance of the three, like everything we had here, was fabulous all together.

Great food! Not sure about the new cafeteria style service. I don't mind ordering from the friendly guys at the bar but I would like decent napkins, salt and pepper on the table and someone to check if my food was okay or if I needed a to-go box. I did appreciate that my food came out hot and was served on a plate. Some places give you a Styrofoam box.

Cozy place. Many vegetarian options. Very friendly and dog friendly staff.
