They have great coffee and tea options! I had a London fog tea with oat milk and it was creamy and delicious! My friend also had an amazing pour over coffee. They don't have a ton of room and it feels a bit cramped, and there isn't really a place to wait. Not their fault, and they're working with the space they have, but it's a bit tough especially during COVID. The baristas were nice and made our drinks pretty quickly!

Possibly the best coffee place on the mid-peninsula. Middle-Eastern flare, with lots of options for coffees and teas with added spices. Kind of a family run place, not pretentious, often the same person who takes your order will turn around and make the drink. Consistently great service. The only downers are shortened hours (close at 2pm) since COVID-19 started, and their outdoor area can get truly uncomfortable in the cold and/or rain (no heaters permitted thanks to some regulation). But when the weather is halfway decent, it’s pleasant to sit in their patio area (which is not fancy, btw, but has plenty of fresh air with a nice mix of sun and shade).

Whenever I am having a rough day/week this is my go to place for a nice treat. The Nutella Mocha with Oat Milk is the best. It's almost like they know I've been stressed and being there makes me feel so much better. The customer services is amazing.
thanks guys!

Love getting coffee here. Everyone is super friendly. They know a ton about coffee and tea. They'll help you find your perfect drink even if it's not on the menu. Location is a little tough to find the first time. Down an alley and the actual shop is outside. Plenty of shade. Dog friendly as well!

Right now they're using an Ethiopian bean for their espresso that is amazing!

This is the best new place in Palo Alto. Top quality, inventive coffees, plus really chill/relaxed outdoor vibe. Good seating with shade/sun and heat lamps. Owner is extremely friendly and welcoming. My hands were cold so he gave me some of those skiing hard warmers for free -- who does that?!

This was a fun find! I thought the coffee shop was closed until we found a narrow path between two walls. It's definitely a place to take a visitor from out of town. It's kind of a bay area like place. It's like a backyard bbq where young people are on their MacBooks or having a meeting. Yes, you can just walk from the parking structure directly to the coffee stand, but take them from the main street :)

Desert Rose Latte - It's definitely unique, but didn't really like the cardamom or whatever the clumps were.

Iced Nutella Mocha - really was just iced latte. Nothing unique.

Still prefer Philz or Voyager.

What a wonderful spot! They have amazing coffee (the flat white is my favorite) and the owner roasts his own beans. They have a very friendly staff who are all very kind and personable. It's an outdoor coffeeshop: you enter through a narrow alleyway and the shop is sandwiched between two buildings. Dogs are welcome and there are lots of plants around, giving it a tremendously welcoming atmosphere when the weather is nice. Will always come back for beans and flat whites!

Cute, dog friendly, outdoor setting serving coffee and teas. Staff was helpful when I mentioned it was my first time there and helped narrow down the menu based on my interests. Prices are a little high but it's unique and the drinks are good. We went after the farmers market and it wasn't super busy. You'll be glad you walked down that narrow alley to get there.

A great outdoor space to enjoy a coffee! The coffee is nothing amazing, but it does the job. What really impresses is the atmosphere and staff.

The staff are extremely friendly and really make Backyard Brew feel like a cozy lounge space. One barista recommended that I try an espresso/heavy cream as a cold alternative to a macchiato. It was surprisingly great!

The tables are filled with students studying and people chatting. A great environment!

The folks who run the place are genuine and lovely. I've only been a few times before and I feel like a friend anytime I go. The drinks are great and the ambiance is fantastic. This is my favorite cafe for laptop work, World Cup viewing, etc.
