Great casual place to hang out and grab a meal. It's a pretty big place so it won't be super quiet but atmosphere is nice. We had some plates to share. The burrata, kale, and cheese bread were really good. Not as big of a fan of the lettuce cups.
Food was ok. Service was disjointed with plates arriving randomly. Atmosphere was awesome for a club, great music. Just a little loud for dinner, we were shouting at each other.
The passive-aggressive bartender we had was one of those typical San Francisco service personnel, who will give you attitude if they don't like you. That's messed up. Especially unfair for introverted customers. These waiters don't understand that they are in the service industry and how replaceable they are. Who are they to give attitude to perfectly respectful customers? These people work minimum wage for a reason. I hope all unfriendly service people get replaced by robots in the near future.
The salad was better than the protein. The ribs were small with not much meat. The wings were burnt. The waiter was horrible. He did not introduce himself. He did not do check ins to see if we needed anything or offer another cocktail
We love Mua. Their cheeseless butternut squash mac and cheese is reason enough for me to want to come every week! Almost all the appetizers and share plates are excellent (they change the ahi tuna appetizer a little and it's no longer as amazing, but still fun) and the entrees are consistently well prepared. Our favorites include the twice cooked kale, any seasonal veggie salad like asparagus and grapefruit, or nectarine, the chicken liver pate, the aforementioned mac and cheese, the gougeres, shiitake mushroom crostini, and Brussels sprouts. The Berkshire pork jowl lettuce wraps were actually disappointing this visit- very greasy, fatty hunks of deep fried pork haphazardly thrown onto wet butter lettuce leaves dripping with what felt like soggy stewed pears and inconsistently drizzled sriracha. After i was done picking the deep fried fat chunks out, I was left with half the amount if pork- good thing I wasn't starving!
Husband's steak was sufficiently red, and when we usually order burgers here they are typically cooked the way we request them (a bit on the rare side) with fun shoestring fries. Our pineapple upside down cake with coconut ice cream was a match made in heaven- not too dense, and the cool creamy coconut married well with the warm fluffy cake and juicy pineapple.
They have excellent cocktails and a good beer selection to round out the menu, and very lively if somewhat loud music being spun by a live DJ upstairs. Definitely a great place for drinks and dinner. Lots of fresh young trendy faces were spotted here.
Oh yeah! A cool place in Oakland. It was a Sunday evening and it was hoppin’! The DJ was playing some good beats. The food was yummy! I had the crab po’ boy. Really flavorful and filling! I also had the fried calamari, Brussel sprouts and some cole slaw off off my daughter’s plate. All good, fresh and flavorful. Is it inexpensive? No but it’s worth it. I will be back.
I still think about their appetizers and tapas almost a week later. So many vegan and vegetarian options that were creative and delicious. The polenta was crispy on the outside and the tomato sauce was light yet still richly flavored. The kale dish was exceptional although I have no idea what was in it. I almost arm wrestled a pregnant gal in our group for the Mac and cheese until it occurred to me to just order another one.
One of the first places we went to when we moved to the area! The cocktails were really good, but what made this place so memorable was the staff! Our bartender was so nice and have some local advice for when we moved. Overall 10/10
Fantastic place. Love the transformation of this place! Great art, great music, great cocktails, delicious food, and really good service. Sit upstairs as it's not as loud as the downstairs

Great service. Great wine. Great food. We ordered 6 different small plates, plus 2 desserts. Loved all of them!
