1. Food was delicious.(we got crispy tofu which I highly recommend as its cooked to perfection)
2. The vibes were good.
3. Very cool interior designs and style.
4. They had a DJ playing music.
5. Our waitress was wonderful.
6. The drinks (I got pink promise) were very well made.
7. The food arrived quickly and hot.

The two reason it loses a star
1. Parking in that area is hell. Be prepared to circle for a long time in bad traffic due to uber drivers and people stopping in the middle of roads to run out and grab food places.
2. The portion sizes for the coat are not amazing.
Everything else about it I recommend.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Oakland. LOVE the food and the atmosphere! Blackened catfish and the creme brulee are my to-gos, both are extremely delicious. Very happy to finally be able to go back and enjoy all my faves.

I have been there many times but never took the time to write the review, so here it is. Love the place and atmosphere, waiters are friendly. I have tried all the dishes I listed on all my occasions and it is consistently same quality and taste. Ok beer selection and cocktails are nothing g special, so I would stick with a beer instead of a cocktail. Place is a bit noisy for a couple, but awesome for friends and big groups.

I love coming here with my friends and family. It reminds me of the tapas tradition in Spain. The menu is thoughtfully curated so you have enough options but not too many.

I love the vibe in this place too. It feel like a club with a live DJ.

Very big venue with high ceilings. Good ambiance and music for a Friday night. Went with a group of 5. They didn't require everyone being there before seating, which was nice. They only take reservations online through their website or Yelp. There are food options for everyone. 20% tip was included in the bill. Fairly easy to find parking.

I haven't been back since my last review (8 years ago). And my experience was just as great, maybe even better this time around with service improvement!

I was in town for my birthday and chose to celebrate at Mua with some good friends. We made a reservation for 7 people in advance and had no problem getting our table and night started.

This time around, we ordered to share:

Padron Peppers | sea salt
Brussels Sprouts | brown butter
No Cheese "Mac n' Cheese"| butternut squash, cream
Chicken Wings | citrus, chili, fish sauce, mint
Fried Calamari | chili, shallot
Beef Bone Marrow | cornichon, toast
Ahi Tuna Sashimi | nori, tempura fried, miso sauce
Mussels | roasted tomato broth, fries, aïoli
Duck Confit | bacon-braised cabbage, golden raisin, spinach, almond, aioli

We had to send the mussels back. They tasted abnormally fishy and just "off". Otherwise, everything was delicious and we were all stuffed for days.

The server was great in taking the mussels back and removing it from our bill.

Service was excellent this time around.

We all also had cocktails all night, and they were all done right!

Definitely a favorite of mine when in Oakland!

Mua is a great place to stop by for lunch or dinner, especially before hitting the club or lounge. The food & drinks are great, the service can be good depending on the mood off the servers.

Inside is beautiful, funky, fun, and unique. I can just sit inside and look around all night. It's a great place to go and hangout on any night of the week. The food is good but not good enough for the price, but I understand the atmosphere is what I'm paying for.

In from Denver for the weekend and my friend took me here. The ambiance is super cute and I’d like to give a special shout out to Becky who was witty and fun, plus totally able to deal with our “we are the fun” attitude. The blackened catfish with dirty rice was a hit as was the cheese less Mac n’ cheese.

I’ll be back when I’m in Oakland. Hands down.
