Usually don’t have bad experience at this place. But expired “fake” eggs

Avocado toast was pretty underwhelming to say the least, adding an egg will come at hefty price, be warned. And nothing is organic or it’s not listed on their menu.

If you are gonna order scrambled eggs, they don’t actually use a fresh eggs but rather a pre-made egg mix. I had no words…

Our order or avocado toast + egg smelled and tasted horrible, we stopped to check and realized the smell was coming from the eggs, they changed it, for well a fresh egg this time.

It’s disappointing that I have to leave this review, I really do like(d) Alchemist Coffee, but it’s hard to want to come back after all this.

How can I trust that they properly check the rest of their food supplies. And that their kitchen is kept clean.

Two stars ⭐️ ⭐️
Because despite the lack of efforts to make this right the staff is kind and welcoming, well, most of them…and they have wifi.

Couldn't say enough good things about this place. Extremely helpful staff, amazing coffee, comfortable spot and right in K-Town.

The honey latte is where it's at. I'm not big on coffee that is too sweet, so I go light on the honey and it's perfect for me. Honestly, everything is very well balanced anyways.

The spanish latte is also super good. Definitely recommend dropping by if you're in the area.

Great selection of coffee and drinks, nice friendly service and good place to meet a friend or get some work done. We had Tiramisu Latte, Lavender Matcha and Mocha Latte and all were amazing.

I really wish I could give this place 5 stars, as the concept is pretty cool, the place is chill, and the coffee is great; however, that parking situation is ridonkulous. Thankfully, for $2, the valet has got you covered.

For it being a trendy hotspot in Koreatown, the place is expectedly crowded, but it doesn't feel uncomfortably so. There's plenty of space for working, and it seems everyone is taking advantage of that, from the young to the elderly, (no judgement here).

The menu is surprisingly diverse, and offers everything from French Toast to Avocado Toast, Egg Sandwiches with something they call "animal sauce," salads, and the quintessential coffeeshop paninis. Even the pastries have a little something extra to offer, from moist Brioche bread pudding to colorful macarons, and even slices of very posh-looking cake, (it is Koreatown, after all).

The coffee you'll find here is some of the best in LA, and it's more than just macchiatos and lattes. They have seasonal specials, as well as signature favorites like the Alchemist Shake made with vanilla ice cream and crushed espresso beans, and the New Orleans Cold Brew made with chicory, cold brew concentrate, milk, and house-made syrup. It packs just enough sweetness to make your day a little more special, but not so much that you feel like you just busted your diet.

If you know the ins and outs of Koreatown it should definitely become one of your local hangouts. But even if you don't, splurge on that $2 valet parking and come get yourself some real coffee.

This location came highly recommended by a regular. I was looking for a place that serves good coffee and has good study spaces. I was happy to see Onyx coffee beans are served here and there is a good sized seating area. I will definitely come back to try more drinks and pastries. My only suggestion for improvement would be to allow parking beyond 1 hour in the attached lot.

Amazing lattes, coffee and food here. It is my other go to Korean owned cafe before work.

Friendly staff and fast wifi. I highly recommend.

Top notch caffeine concoction in town. Skip Starbucks if you want the real deal with real service. The staff here are so friendly and genuine professional batistas.

My favorite coffee shop in LA, with the cleanest and most flavorful cold brew coffee. I get the single origin cold brew and my favorite story is when I let my friend try some, he didn’t know what drink it is (he didn’t know it was coffee) because he had never tasted such flavorful and non-bitter coffee before!
There are lots of seating options inside with big windows so it is a great place to study. The only bummer is the valet parking outside, which is only $3 but definitely adds to the cost of the coffee.

Gentleman behind the counter gave me a great drink suggestion and now I’m hooked :)

The store looks really cool, can’t wait for COVID restrictions to ease up so folks can enjoy the inside a bit more!

6/5 :)

What can I say. I've been coming here since it was Bourbon Street, went back to NYC for 4 years, and came back and it's Alchemist. Same very personable group of young people manning the espresso makers and charming service throughout. My personal favorite is the lavender latte...just the right blend of coffee and milk to keep you alert and get through the day. When it was Bourbon street I was the most "checked in" guest...but I do not "check in" anymore yet alas I'm sure when the alchemists read this they will know who I am. In conclusion, this is EXACTLY the small type of intimate neighborhood spot you should be spending your $ on and not big coffee Frappuccino incorporated. Keep up the alchemy alchemists!
