The Grand

I have to vote this as the Best New coffee shop! There is a great vibe inside, and plenty of seating to tuck yourself away and study. This if the best rendition of this space since the original Amsterdam's (before their numerous remodels) The Grand has yet to disappoint!

Great service, tasty coffee and reasonable price. The interior design in steam-punk style is just amazing!

Stop in the morning by suggestion, I’ve been once before. Decided to get breakfast. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The staff were perky, the chefs were hilarious and the food was amazing.
I am a southern girl, very spoiled on biscuits and gravy. I’ve struggled to find ones I like in PHX. These were delicious! I’m so excited to share the news with other biscuit and gravy lovers!! And you cannot beat the price on breakfast items.
I will definitely return and try other menu items and drinks!

On Saturday at 11:00 am - 12:30 pm, this was a great, relaxing place to get a delicious coffee at a price comparible or it may have actually been cheaper than the 2 high profile coffee places you're used to frequenting (SB/DB).
The white mocha was delicious, and the food looked and smell delectable.
I came for a short business meeting. They have Wi-Fi available, but I didn't use it. I saw several patrons on their laptops.
My business partner thought service was slow, but I didn't notice it (she was also late and in a hurry, so that may have mentally played a factor).
The patio was great (unlikely to enjoy as much as it heats up for Summer), but the inside was gorgeous, and much larger than I perceived it to be from the outside.
Getting to The Grand was tricky, be sure to stay left of the light rail - it is a one-way North on Central... That said, please do not turn right when getting back on to Central when exiting. I watched as several cars did this.
I will be back. I'd like to see a live performance here at night. They have a cool stage setup (right behind me from the picture).

Super fun spot in DT Phoenix!! A few concepts under one roof. The Ghost Ship bar is awesome.

It WAS NOT good.
Hipster, with techno included. No entertainment, NO pirate music, $14 drinks, and a 'menu' of 3 appetizers.
In fact... We tried to order 1 appetizer at 9:57 pm and we were told the kitchen was closed.
Their 'menu' consisted of $30 charcuterie board, hummus and chorizo stuffed figs.
Do they actually HAVE a kitchen???
Mind ya, we had a reservation at 9 pm they took us in 10 minutes late(we checked in 15 minutes early and no one called us. We walked up and asked to be seated after everyone that came after us went in before us.)

While my daughter was at ASU this was where she went. So when I picked her we went together before leaving Phoenix. Good vibe, good food, good atmosphere- they have live music at night . Cool spot

Really dumb and unoriginal name. A quick google search would show that calling a night club ghost ship is super insensitive.

The Grand has made all sorts of updates over the past few years! Still love going here, one of my regular bars. The bartenders are great, the atmosphere is chill. They aren't open all day anymore and no more coffee, but they have DJs on the regular, and Ghost Ship is a cool pirate ship themed bar inside. The cocktails could be a little better, but if you stick with basic mixed drinks or beer, you're good to go. Pretty reasonably priced for the location too.

The mojito was my favorite but the coffee liqueur was also a great drink. They grow their own mint for the mojito and the bartenders are friendly. Definitely recommend stopping by here as it’s not too busy and the vibe is friendly.
