Makai Cafe

Food was absolutely amazing! Service was even better! Price was reasonable as well for 3 adult plates and 2 coffees. Will definitely be going back when we are in town and will be our go to to eat! They have 2 rooms to sit and eat as well as out side seating. Thank you Ciera for great service!

Finding a place for a group of indecisive folks isn't always easy and this didn't prove to be the best solution. However, we wanted to be near the lake and the view was very nice. The rest of our experience was somewhat rough. This is a very busy restaurant and seems to be slightly understaffed... The service was less than friendly. The wait to receive menus, have our order taken etc was long but not unbearable considering how busy it was. 4 of our meals were served long before the other 2. My order was cold and wasn't even what I ordered and my sourdough toast didn't ever arrive but we got some whole wheat toast once we were done eating. Our server was abrupt and abrasive which made us hesitant to ask for anything. When I went to pay the bill I mentioned that my order was incorrect our server rudely asked me why I didn't say anything. I stated that it would have been a long wait. She shrugged and said she could have taken it off our bill but didn't do that. Needless to say, we ate but won't be going back. And even though I didn't get what I ordered the food wasn't horrible but the experience kinda soured the flavor.

Great food, service not so much. Loved the Chorizo Benedict but had a difficult time getting waited on to start, and had to go find a coffee refill later.

I have had the worst experience. We waited 30 minutes to get helped. The lady told us to sit wherever and never came back for 30 minutes. We finally got helped, we looked up there menu online and knew exactly what we wanted when our server finally came. We are than our check was just dropped, we may have wanted another drink but we decided to just try to pay our check. Still no one came for 30 minutes. So than we went inside, (the guy next to us did the same) our server was very friendly to him and was very rude to us, she yanked our card out of my hand and just slammed the receipt for us to sign. This is the first time I've tipped 20% , I worked as a server for 5 years and never do that but I will never go back here again, the way I was treated and the service was the worst I have ever experienced!!!

This place I was doubting. The staff very nice the restaurant is clean a bit loud when full. The Turkey sandwich was quite good and would go back just for that. Took awhile to get our order (3 in the party). Would go back it was very good. Tried the waffles they too were very good!!

I heard this place had great food. Only ate here once and it was meh (ham crepes). But the outdoor space is so enjoyable: I'd like to go back and try something else.

My hunny and I were looking for a cute and laid back cafe and this place fit perfectly. Our waitress Lily was so adorable and friendly, she commented on my outfit ☺️ The food was so amazing. I got the Veggie Benedict and he got the Classic Benedict. Will definitely be coming back next time we’re here!

I ate here a couple times during my stay. Good menu choices and nice sized portions. The decor is nothing to brag about unless you count sitting out on the front patio that overlooks the water, bridge, and boats. I just had eggs over medium, toast, sausage, and was good. I would rather enjoy Makai over a Waffle Hiuse or Denny's anytime. The staff were very friendly.

Food was good. However, we called in to find out how long the wait was to get breakfast. I called at 10:30 am and was told the wait was 15 minutes so I put our name on the list. We were there by 10:40 am only to find out name wasn't on the list. And the wait was 20-30 minutes. So we waited 20 minutes and we're finally seated. The waitress took our drink order brought them out. We had to ask for utensils which the waitress had to wrap and then we waited. And waited. And waited. We had to ask for refills on the coffee. Finally at 12:10pm we got our breakfast. The breakfast was great.

My experience here wasn't great at all. When I arrived I waited 20 minutes to check in. Then once I seated myself at the patio. I waited another 15 minutes before any service. Waited for the food 20 minutes. Only for it to arrived cold to the table. I had to run the waitress down. I don't know why this restaurant had 4 stars. They need to up their manpower and retrain the workers. Because in my mind. Interacting and greeting customers is key. Also checking up on them periodically to see if everything is good. Sucks, I will not be back.
