I love this place, but the employees could definitely use a little help to make the wait time less than 30 minutes

Seriously good breakfast at good prices! Open 24 hours on some days in true old school diner fashion, and late on other days if you missed the last kitchen call elsewhere.

Server was terrible.
She was so rude and seemed to like talking with coworkers rather than actually serve the two tables she had.
Her name was Sara and I will never go back again if she is working.

She also got our order all wrong because using a note pad would have been so difficult.

Ok food but the large woman with glasses does nothing but complain and visit with the customers to the point that other customers suffer. I had to get my own silverware from behind the bar and still ended up with no spoon because they don't put spoons in the silverware roll! What's happening here?!?!?

Consistently the worst restaurant in town. The food tastes like it was left on the grill for three days before you order it. The Pioneer is a greasy spoon in the sense that they only serve grease, which you will force down your throat because you already paid half of your life's savings for the waste they scraped out of the grease trap. Every server acts as if they would rather be anywhere else in the world. Owner is always drunk, if you do see him down there embarrassing himself. I'd rather eat out of a dumpster than ever be drug here by my drunk friends ever again.

As long as you call ahead and order then no wait. Chili burgers were wicked great. Excellent customer service!!!

If you like a good old fashion American meal, this is the place to go. I had the most amazing breakfast here, and was pleased with the taste, portions, quality, price, and overall service of this diner.

Excellent! The French fries are so good, you remember why you love them. The halibut was perfect. Great crust, good tartare sauce.

I have always loved this locally owned and operated ma and Pa kitchen that has such a homey feeling to it. Always a hot heaping plate of food. A little understaffed on weekends but still one of my favorites in ketchikan

Great place to decompress. Old school shakes and fries. Best spot to recharge in Ketchikan.
