Pioneer Cafe

Not really worth it for the price, food was burnt and dry, the portion sizes for my party's dishes were all different but we all ordered the same things. Food took well over and hour and a half to arrive and most of it was cold by time it came out. The only positive highlight of the visit was the service, the employees were cheerful and very professional.

I had breakfast here. It was good. A little pricey, but I enjoyed my meal. Prepared quickly without sacrificing quality.

The breakfasts are great! That is the only items I will eat there. The soups are cold and are usually paste. Best chicken fried steak I have had in Ketchikan. The sausage gravy needs more flavor. Please start changing up the soups and specials.

Every time I've gone here since 2004 has been a five star experience! Whether it's hanging out with friends and food after bar closing or waiting in the beautiful park across the street for take out, the staff and food have always been excellent. I almost always get the chicken fried steak, Alaska burger (two meals for me!), clam strips, or any of the appetizers. Tonight was a great example that prompted me to finally make a review. I was "THAT" customer that had to return my food because of a simple abbreviation error on the ticket. It was take out so I didn't realize until halfway home (totally my fault!) I nervously made my walk of shame to the door, and I was met with nothing but KINDNESS. Lots of apologies, free meal replacement, got to keep the mistake (but that may have been solely due to COVID). If I had cash on me, I would have tipped an extra $5. Awesome people, amazing attitudes, especially for what I am sure was a busy reopening day.

Husband wanted biscuits and gravy. Did not disappoint! Friendly, clean. Would recommend.

Definitely a place locals eat. Down home "health food" - fried popcorn shrimp appetizer ( good portion), fried clam strip basket with fries, great tartar and cocktail sauces. We split and are a bit overfull. Tea is already "lemoned." We'd come back.

Old school, non chain places such as this are the best. Great atmosphere and great breakfast.

Your average breakfast spot. Food and service were good. I would definitely come back. Space allocation was hurting though. My wife and I sat at an extra table blocking part of the walkway. Place is not that clean either and you get the impression that it's a little run down.
