Smith-Byrd House Bed and Breakfast and Tea Room

A very relaxing experience. Owners took the time to say hello and explain how the tea service worked. They explained in detail the items being served and were accommodating when we wanted to try multiple pots of tea. We tried 6 pots of tea,(3 for each of us) and I got the Princess tea while he got the Queen's tea. We felt very welcome in their tea house. We only wish we lived closer so we could do this every day! We drove 35 minutes from Montgomery and it was worth it!

We had a small get together for my daughters birthday and had the most wonderful experience. Staff were very kind, patient and very helpful. The place is absolutely gorgeous and the food and tea was amazing. One of my favorite places in Prattville. Will definitely be back!

I absolutely loved my visit to the Smith-Byrd Tea house!! I was accompanied by two of my closest friends Christopher Baker & Joseph Lowe. We ordered “The Queens Tea” for three !! It was a delicious & beautiful experience all the way around. The food was amazing & there was an extensive list of teas to chose from . If your in Alabama I think this place is a MUST!!

Stopped here on our way from Florida to Nashville.
Wonderful B & B. Beth and David are wonderful hosts. Told us the history of the house, brought a pot of tea to our room after dinner, made us a wonderful breakfast and joined us.
We will return when we are in the area.

Wife and I had a great stay! The bed was comfy, bath tub was hot, breakfast was delicious, and owners were so kind. The folks that live in the area around this house are the type who smile and wave from their front porches when they see you. If you are expecting a house straight from Southern Living, than you’ll be disappointed. This beautiful, storied house is still a work in progress and the home of its owners. If you love cats, there are quite a few outside that are cared for by the owners. The house is in a very safe area (and the sheriffs office is right down the street), and the exterior doors are locked at night, but do know that the interior bedrooms do not currently (May 2018) lock. Overall we had a great stay and loved talking with Beth and David, and we would stay here again!

Always a pleasure to come to the tea room! They’re working hard on renovations and they take the time to know you and remember you! Love the atmosphere, company, tea and food.

First time to a tea room. Went for lunch yesterday, service was exceptional, we were not rushed and staff attentive to our needs and requests. Food was delicious, one of the best green salads I've had. Wonderful variety of foods served. Hard to pick a tea, so many to choose from, but chose decaf apricot peach, and it was wonderful; as was the subtlety flavored water. The dinner ng room itself was the perfect setting.

How I love this quaint tea room. My daughter and I have enjoyed coming here often, sometimes accompanied by grandma or granny or an occasional friend. The food is wonderful and the owners are so friendly. The home is quite beautiful too. Love their chai teas and quiche. Can't get enough. Planning a tea party soon with some pageant queens.

The charm of this tea room is matched only by that of its hosts. It is steeped in personality and very apparent that quality takes priority. Being greeted by a cabinet full of possibly a hundred jars of teas set the stage for what became an impeccable lunch experience.

This place is like heaven on 🌎 earth. So peaceful and tranquility.My family and I arrived as a half way mark to stay 2 nights before headed to Fort Walton ⛱ Beach. When we arrived its like we stepped back in time. The enchanting time of elegance.Mr.David and Mrs. Beth were excellent host. They made us all feel comfortable.Breakfast was superb.We will be back!!!
