Hubbard's Off Main

My family had my great grandmother's 90th birthday in a private room. Service was fantastic. Food was even better!
Was my first experience there but we could hear live music from the public part of the restaurant, can't wait to try it out for date night!

Shrimp and Grits. I think I found the best shrimp and grits to date. I have traveled all over the South and can't believe I've missed this place. The sauce was divine and the grits were perfect. This will be added to my list of favorites. I was deeply honored to meet Ms. Jordan the chef. Thanks so much.

Eating at the Sunday buffet makes me wonder about some of the rating customers food tastes. This is not a self-serve buffet thankfully but a server stands by and will tell you that you cannot have a larger scoop of chicken (dry and tough, almost shingle consistency so glad they were there) and dressing (good and worth a return trip for seconds... but dependent on the line length to get food. The salad was good, small green beans fair (but only served 10 pcs.), fried okra (will pass next time), grits were good, pasta salad was pitiful with pasty hard pasta (read... hard not al-dente, obviously someone does not tastes their products in the kitchen). Deserts were OK and plentiful. Sadly going through the serving line requires multiple trips as the pans and trays are empty or so low you can only get a sample. Reading other diners experience and ratings, the daily food experience is much better than the buffet. Maybe I'll try it during the week... and update this post. Be aware that they do add gratuity for groups so the server did good for just dropping off a bottle of water. We cleared our dirty dishes to an empty bar in the rear. Server was very nice but seldom seen since you serve your self.

We visited on an extremely busy day. If anything could go wrong, it did. In short, there was a wedding reception, college graduation party, and other large parties. Fryer wasn't working, you name it was happening at the same time. But .. Professionals they were, our waitress was a jewel. The owner was sweet. The wedding decorations were done and were beautiful. We witnessed the train that kept on moving. I don't know when I'll be in the area again, but should I visit Oxford again, I do plan to visit Hubbard's again. Chicken salad was delish 😋

First time dining here. We had the ribeye which was better than most places in town but a little fatty. Mac & cheese was good. Mom said she wouldn't order salad again because was too mushy. All and all I would return. Place was pretty empty for it to be lunch time so we were surprised by that.

It’s impossible to get bad food or service at this establishment. We literally ate dinner here last night and came back this morning for breakfast. The food is divine. Top notch, under 40$. And I couldn’t finish all my food.

This place is a must if you're in the area, if not its worth the drive. Our steaks were perfect. We strongly recommend the pimento salad and chicken salad. Atmosphere is amazing for such a small town. Collard greens and roasted vegetables were so amazing. We can't wait to go back. If there were 10 stars this is the place.

Wonderful service! They accommodated our big group for lunch and got us in and out quickly!

I was visiting Hubbard's with a client and felt like a burger with pimento cheese and fries because I heard that they were incredible. Betty our server also echoed that sentiment. When it arrives ves, it was perfectly cooked as requested and very tasty. Thanks Betty you were awesome.

Hubbard's Off Main Restaurant is a delightful place in the Historic Downtown Oxford Alabama! It has two separate indoor dining rooms and a bar, it has a patio wooden deck on the back for dining outside and it also has another overflow room out back that is really nice! Food is really good and priced well! And it is located next to the Oxford Performing Arts Center (OPAC)! Everyone Enjoy!
