Great food prep and presentation. Good, but not great taste. The steaks aren’t what we were expecting for the price and quality of the sides and service. The fries and brussel sprouts were great, the two steaks we had were good. The drinks were very good.
Bring someone in to take your beef to the next level or change your supplier.

I’ve been wanting to try this place and it lived up to the expectation.
Appetizers were the best part of the meal, we did the fish neck, the pimento cheese, and the lamb ribs - all delicious, especially the fish.
Service was excellent, as were the drinks.

An great wine and food restaurant. Understand it's a classy place so the prices may seem high but the ambience is superb. The pork chop was a little dry but tasted ok. My friend ordered her steak med well and it came med rare. They comped her meal. My steak was delicious. The service was great. The wines were great as well.

We were visiting the Legacy Museum (two doors down) and were starving like no one's business and "ran upon" Central. We caught it right before they were closing for lunch. I honestly thought they wouldn't seat us so close to closing, but they did. STAR!
The ambiance is dark wood, open kitchen, and high ceilings. It smells amazing in there.
We chose a few appetizers because everything sounded so good, we couldn't decide. The fried tomatoes, okra & pimento cheese dish, and cheddar cheese grits (it's a side but were ordered it as an appetizer0 were amazing.
I started with a cup of heirloom tomato bisque. Had the right amount of seasoning and not too much cream. Perfect. I had the fish & grits as my entree. UH-MAZ-ING.
Nothing was over-seasoned and were the perfect temperature.
The vanilla creme brulee was a perfect ending to this lunch. I now want to back to Montgomery and visit to have dinner there!

Quality meal in the heart of downtown Montgomery. The quality of the food and flavor profiles for all of the dishes we tried went together very well. The food at Central rivals other high end restaurants in big cities of the region like Birmingham and Atlanta. Some dishes (duck) are worthy of making the menu of James Beard Award winning establishments. If you have the means to visit or are looking for a nice meal for any occasion this is a great place to visit.
3 Dec 2020 Update - Visit #2 - Again we had exceptional service and the food was prepared perfectly. I once again picked the duck, we tried the fried rice, and our friends had the steak. Duck flavor is rich and the med rare cook does it justice without being under cooked. The charcuterie plate was very nicely put together and included a few homemade toast/crostini, 3 cheeses, salamis, chicken pate, jam, figs. My wife’s dish was the rice and it was good but flavor profiles seemed more Thai inspired with a slight coconut taste. The steak was med rare and honestly one of the best meals at the table. Again the attention to detail on the cool and seasoning were great. I added some new pictures to help with your ordering experience. Have fun and enjoy you dinner in Montgomery.
21 December Update - again we had superb service and the food was great. Pimento cheese - Smokey and nice flatbread/crackers. Short rib - very nice pairing with grits and flavor profile was great. Sunday special(pasta) - flavor starts out simple and complexity and heat build with each bite. All the dishes were great.
22 April 2021 Update - Central does it again... Delivering a fresh spring menu. They never fail to pair great food with superb service. Our family shared our love for the restaurant with our friends and family from out of town and each of the dishes we tried were cooked perfectly and seasoned to catch everyone’s attention. Small details like the salty trout roe offset the sweetness of the scallops and you catch yourself wanting more. The brine of the oysters complimented the white fish filet and bacon infused greens and the pork chop was tender and everyone at the table wanted a bite. Thanks again for all of the great meals we experienced this year and we look forward to coming in the future.

Definitely a nice place, with nice staff, ambiance, decor, and decent food. Only street parking, and you might have to park down the street a bit. Prices are what you would expect from a fine dining place, which are a little high for Montgomery. The scallops were a little slimy, but everything else was pretty good.

Every single thing we ordered was beyond amazing 💚💚 Brandy took care of us and she was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. The desserts are heavenly also.

The food was fantastic and the server was very attentive and professional. I must congratulate the hostess on her professionalism as well.

Eating here is like listening to good old soul music. I got a nice table, the waitress (Whitney) was perfect. She knows the menucard well and can tell you what fits well together - so I started with an amazing foie gras (I'm Hungarian and we just love it) - then I had the salmon (well done over the brickoven) and so I finished with the creme brûlée. Can you feel it? The Soul? Eating here is like a solid marriage - take your time and you feel like in heaven.

Excellent service and an outstanding meal. Great to have the 8oz filet back on the menu. Charcuterie board was top notch. A great steak, good atmosphere, and a great wait staff.
