Central Restaurant

Really good service, fancy but not fussy, excellent food. We were in shorts and t-shirts and fit right in with other folks in their Easter finest. Interior is really warm and nice, super cool vibe, lots of wood and darker colors, quiet despite being very open layout. Open kitchen really adds to the vibe. Wait staff were super attentive, laid back but efficient. Food was terrific - the menu isn't huge, but really nice appetizer selection, delicious cocktails, and our entree was very good. Best Old Fashioned I've had across the southern US this year! I'd defintely go back here.

Celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary in one of the private rooms. We had a great time the food was excellent and the atmosphere was elegant. The only complaint I had was that the carpet should have been cleaner and chair covers should have been included because the chairs were worn and some were stained. Great experience overall :)

Dined here during a visit to the Legacy museum and the Memorial with my sister. We were tired and hungry by the time we arrived. Our dining experience was v good and the service by Valerie was excellent. I had the lamb ribs to start it was sublime n fell off the bone. My sister had the fries green tomatoes which she thoroughly enjoyed. Our mains didn't disappoint either.

Loved Valerie's pleasant n can do attitude as we both had dietary requirements. Would definitely come back for a visit when in Montgomery again.

Went here for dinner while on a work trip, higher end restaurant experience in an awesome old downtown building! I had the diver sea scallops with a side of brussel sprouts. Everything was awesome, very flavorful. Again, this place is higher end but is well worth the extra money. The drinks/deserts were awesome!

Central defines what fabulous service is. Every time we come here I am delighted. The food is modern southern which is a delicious take on local food. Their cocktails are crafted to perfection. If I could I would eat here twice a week!

Some dishes that I have ordered over time include:

Lamb Ribs- delicious from the Korean spice rub
Grilled Oysters- pimento included
Hot Chicken Buns- crunchy slaw, fried chicken, fluffy buns
Veggie Misto- tempura style veg, the mushroom was my favorite!
Charcuterie Board- best in the city. They take the time to explain what in on the board!

Pork Chop- a Southern staple!
Steak- any steak you get is the best steak I’ve ever had. So tender, flavorful and accompanied with yummy sides.
Short Ribs- a personal favorite. Very tender, then demi is rich, in a bed of the best grits in Montgomery.
Catch of the Day- they highlight local fish and elevate it!
Scallops- when in season, they are cooked perfectly!
Hot Honey Chicken- crispy, sweet, crunchity, juicy chicken.
Sunday Sauce- braided meat and house made pasta join and I rejoice!

Desserts- every desert is crafted to a point, I enjoy their whimsical takes on the classics.

That was the most amazing food that i ever had!! lamb was perfectly cooked and taste was much more amazing with the combination woth the sauce and the sides!!!
oh and almond cheesecake!!! it was amazing!! u can get coconut flavor in it, sweet but light!! All respects to the chef!! And our waiter Taeman was fantastic too! I listened his recommendation and you guys definitely should listen him too!! Thank you guys!!🫶🏻🫶🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The place is an oasis in Montgomery but for the decoration and the quality of the food / price, I'll expect to ask the clients to dress more properly and the waiters not to use jeans. In 2023 there other standards to look cool. The service is one of those who shows up evrey 2 moons and they seat us, a party of 4 on a table for 8. We couldn't talk properly due of the size of the table. Bar is well managed. The fries were oil wet and overcooked: awful. The rest of the dishes were delicious. No bread (!)

The Food was amazing but there were extremely long waits between dishes, over an hour between the salads and Steaks. Then the dessert never came and we were just given the bill and told it was closing time. A very bad way to spend our 21st wedding anniversary. We spent over 2 hours in Central, mainly sitting in uncomfortable chairs. As we left I apologized to my wife for such a terrible experience.

My wife and I love to try new places. We made reservations at Central to celebrate her birthday and a late Valentine's Day. We arrived at our reservation time and were promptly seated. Our server was Laura. She was very friendly and helped us with selections of wine, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. She was excellent in helping us decide.

The pimento cheese / flatbread appetizer was great. Very healthly portions of pimento cheese and it was like I had never had. It had incredible, bold flavor. My wife had the short ribs and I had the New York strip. This was all complimented with wedge sald that had a wonderful dressing. The short ribs were melt in your mouth and over a bed of tasty grits. The strip was a perfect medium and one of the best I have had. It was over a bed of cheese mashed potatoes. For dessert we had the chocolate marquise and it was sweet and delectable.

The restaurant atmosphere was warm and rustic. The server was great. The meal was one of the best I have ever had. It certainly is a special occasion restaurant for us but we will be back. The menu will change in March so we will be back to try more items very soon!

Very nice restaurant with top notch service. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner The Fried Green Tomato appetizer was so delicious. We enjoyed our Risotto and Scallops, Short Ribs and Grits, Filet Mignon and Pork Chop. Fun dessert options. We enjoyed the Raspberry Yuzu Crème Brûlée.
