Absolutely in love with their expansive and vast menu, this is a hotspot for any coffee lover. Skip over Starbucks and go to Carpe Diam, your wallet will thank you, and the amazing staff is friendly and very helpful. So many flavors to choose from. This shop is absolutely BANGIN'. Their pastries they serve are also high quality and pairs nicely with a fresh warm coffee they serve. I absolutely love this coffee shop. Chill atmosphere, upbeat, and such a beautiful interior. Even the furniture pieces in the store look so comfortable and homey. Make your coffee exactly how you want. A well deserved 5.5 stars, I have never been as impressed with a coffee place as much as this one. I will be a customer for life!

Pretty good latte. Better than chains for sure. I’m from Seattle, so I’m picky about my coffee. This place does a good job, but I’ve had better. The staff were friendly. The service was kind of slow, but they were quite busy. The atmosphere is very nice. Seemed like a very nice neighborhood hang out. The hipsters and credit rich people were thick is my only complaint. The kind of folks that cants say, “excuse me,” as they need by you. Not the fault of the business, but it does detract from the experience.

A must stop in Mobile, Alabama. Great coffee roasted in house with an overall warm and comfy ambiance. Skip the chain and Seize the Day!!!

I just adore this place. It's everything a neighborhood coffee shop should be.
The espresso and frozen beverages are tasty, creative, and numerous. There's a broad range of pastries and other sweets, as well as a limited range of quiche and sandwiches. (One odd thing is that they don't heat pastries, instead pointing you towards a self-serve microwave on the prep stand.) The full menu is posted online.
The shop is located in a Victorian house, with seating in several distinct rooms. Most of the seating is small cafe tables, which customers are free to group as needed, and there are also one or two conversation groups. The decor is rich and busy, and the back room has had local children's art on display every time I've visited.
The staff is consistently sweet and hardworking, and the place is usually buzzing with locals. Such a friendly, bright, fantastic place.

Excellent tasty coffee and breakfast sandwich. My table ordered latte with 2 espresso shots, a turkey sandwich in a croissant, oat meal, and cream cheese bagel. Everything was super!

Best coffee shop in Mobile! I am always greeted by a friendly face and the coffee is the best in Mobile. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable. It is my favorite coffee shop. And the cakes, desserts and muffins are great and priced very affordable. I recommend the Morning Glory muffin or the granola mix for breakfast!

Such a comfortable environment, lounging and great coffee and tea. Been visiting here most of my life. Was my mom's hangout as a teen. She continued visit as we lived in Mobile. When I visit family I make sure to visit Carpe Diem.

Fantastic coffee house! Incredible coffee offerings, the most friendly, knowledgable and helpful baristas, and a welcoming, relaxing environment. A great place to go whether you are seeking quiet time or a place to meet with others. And with the aroma of in-house freshly roasted coffee permeating the place, Carpe Diem is tops! Highly recommended!

Nice atmosphere! Love the wooden floor planks that caresses my every step and begs me to stay. :) I missed it the first time and had to double back. I would love to come back and grab a cup of coffee and sit a while. This time, I was only there to grab some desserts I saw while searching for chocolate cake on waitr.

I lived in Mobile for 8 years and this was my go to for coffee and chilling out. I'm not even much of a coffee drinker but I tried their coffee of the day multiple times and was always pleasantly surprised.
I just went back on my way through town and it felt like nothing had changed (in a good way). The house is cozy and inviting. The smell of good coffee permeates everything, even the bathrooms. Conversation is buzzy but never too loud and the back room is still unofficially the quiet room for studiers and readers. And if you want to be loud or have a large group the side deck is shaded and comfortable.
Whether you are a local or just passing through you owe it to yourself to check this place out if you like coffee, or coffee houses, or houses, or just want to see the kind of places that make Mobile unique.
