Rivertown Coffee

Delicious vegetarian (+ egg) breakfast, fresh hot coffee with almond milk, and a casual, local, atmosphere. Wandering into Rivertown Coffee made me want to spend more time in Florence and NW Alabama to get a better feel for the place.

Don't be fooled by their menu online - they serve food weekend mornings, too.

I live in Memphis and when we come to Florence to visit my in-laws I always stopped at Rivertown first. Great atmosphere...great staff & service...amazing coffee!! Change nothing!

I love Rivertown. It is such a friendly place and you can see just about anyone there. It is not my favorite among coffee shops for just their coffee, however their food is incredible! Highly recommend their apple muffins.

Cool coffee shop with quite tasty lunch items. Panini, wraps salad and such. I heard their chicken salad was the best around. Good flavor mixes, average portions. Hit it for lunch!

At lunch, for the best experience, call ahead, let them know you're there, seat yourself, enjoy, and take your plate to the counter when you're done. Every sandwich is good. Ask for the daily specials; there's often an amazing one time only soup or salad. Tacos on Wednesday.

At dinner, grab a $1 off beer and a beef or chicken burrito with a side of yummy chips.

Rivertown coffee is like wrapping up in a comfortable blanket on a cold winter night.

I was sceptical of the quality of food and coffee at this shop because of the grungy, artistic vibe and decor, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the unique flavor of the espresso in the cortado my husband got. We decided to get lunch as well, and the sandwiches we ordered were interesting combinations of ingredients and packed with flavor. The sourdough bread for the sandwiches was a fantastic choice.
We ended up coming back later in the day and ordering mango smoothies, which were so refreshing and natural-tasting (just frozen mango and your choice of juice - we chose pineapple-orange) perfect for a hot day in Alabama.

One note though: don't get the fruit salad on the side if you are expecting fresh fruit. I think it had been frozen and was still partially so, along with being kind of soggy from defrosting.

Updating my review to take back my one star since y’all were closed it makes more sense 😂 I hate that the door wasn’t locked. I didn’t know there was a social media or I would have sent a message. I just hopped on here since I couldn’t get anyone on the phone! I love getting coffee here!

Love all the staff amd owner at Rivertown! Reasonable prices for drinks and great atmosphere! Super tasty brunch/lunch options daily. Great quaint local business that gives Florence some wonderful character!
