One of the best and nice little coffee joint in downtown Florence,Alabama. I love their coffee and food especially Veggie pesto panini sandwiches. They only serve it from Monday-Friday between 12-2 p.m. Their souls are delicious too. Staff is very friendly and ambience is nice. Definitely worth money and worth visiting.

This is the kind of coffee house that other coffee houses should aspire to be. Friendly staff that are eager to provide suggestions and recommendations, stellar food that is light yet super filling (I personally recommend the turkey pesto panini), and the kind of atmosphere that resonates with tranquility makes this a superb location for lunch and breakfast. The coffee even takes it a step beyond your commonplace coffee house chain as I actually wanted to have more than one cup after having my first. I wholeheartedly advise stopping by here if you're in the area and need a place with great food and great people involved with making the experience an amazing one.

Fantastic food and the best coffee. Their burritos, served 5 PM until close, are unbelievable. On the downside, the slotted wooden chairs they have hurt after sitting a while and the tables aren't very stable. Overall, it's still my favorite coffee shop in the area.

This place had a really cool vibe and the food smelled great (though I didn't order any). We were there over what would have been considered the college's Christmas break, but the place was still packed with people. In various Alabama towns, it's hard for me to actually find decent coffee - so it's nice to see a good, independently owned shop in Florence. The decor is eclectic. The staff are friendly.
But there is one "complaint" that prohibits me from adding an extra star to "love it." I bought a pour-over coffee (also, very difficult to find in/around Alabama). The "barista" ground the coffee, put it in a nice pour-over setup, and then just started dumping water on it. There really wasn't any time or appropriate water to allow the coffee to bloom before finishing the pour-process. I kind of cringed when I saw it, especially because the pour-over costs a little more than the regular brew. But honestly, if I would have known that he was going to pour this way, I would have gone with the regular brew. My pour-over was OK, but I wouldn't say that it was great.
Other than that, I'd definitely come back again - it's not a deal breaker, just a bit of constructive criticism.

I have not tried the coffee so I'm not totally in the position to give a review. Still, I have sat in here and read a book so I guess I'll just be reviewing the atmosphere. Anyways, the employees are some down to earth and respectful people. And there's outlets here so you can charge your phone. And it's quiet enough to read about anything. So I recommend you give this place a visit

Rivertown is by far the best coffee shop I've ever had the pleasure of going to. This local favorite had the best quality coffee and staff that greet you as you enter, remember your order, and make it correctly and quickly every time. The only down side is I hate to travel because there isnt anywhere else that can match their quality and example.

You have to make time to experience this place! The coffees are wonderful, and the food is fresh and tasty! We arrived at opening, and the muffins were warm, and the aroma of the thick cut bacon was wafting out to the sidewalk. My wife had a muffin, while I had a hot breakfast sandwich: both were excellent. Hot and cold coffees were very good. There was a constant mix of people coming in, amplifying the earthy, artistic atmosphere. Oh, and there is very good Wi-Fi!

I’ve had coffee in LA, Chicago, Orlando/Tampa, Asheville, etc. RT has the best coffee I’ve ever had. I’ve been going here 10+ years now and regardless how long you have to wait in line (a good thing IMO), it’s worth it!
