We went around 3pm today so I was able to try some of their German food. Decided on the Käse Schnitzel with pan fried potatoes, and I had asked for German potato salad but received French Fries instead. Not sure if they were out or something, no explanation was given, but to be fair no explanation was asked for. Wasn't that serious for me. But it does lead me into my one complaint...the service. It left a lot to be desired. Our waitress took our order, brought drinks & food, and made sure our cups weren't empty. So the basics of serving were well accomplished. Her manner is where I take issue. Not placing things on the table or handing them to us, but slinging things on the table. I also had to walk to the register to ask for a to go box, as our waitress was out front smoking a cigarette. Nothing appalling happened but the service was nothing to write home about either.

Now with that out of the way...here's the good stuff! My schnitzel was delicious! I lived in Europe for 3 years and then in Tampa where I had my favorite restaurant, Mr. Dunderbak's, and while I'm definitely not a schnitzel connoisseur, I do know a thing or two about good schnitzel, and that was good schnitzel. I think it could be a great schnitzel though by trying a smoked Gouda béchamel sauce rather than just the melted Gouda. My husband's hamburger was also very tasty and he devoured it. So no complaints there.

I thought I would have to drive to Huntsville or possibly back to Tampa again to have some good schnitzel, so I'm pleasantly surprised to find some just a couple of blocks from home. All in all it was a good experience and we will return.

Also, last bit I promise, Busy Bee Cafe, if you're reading this I would like to make a dessert suggestion. Knowing that you plate up some good German dishes, I would love to see Bienenstich (Bee Sting Cake) as a staple on the menu. Mostly because I love it and don't want to drive to Florida for it. But also because you're the Busy Bee Cafe!! It's the perfect staple dessert.

There was a time that anyone would tell you here was the best burger in Cullman. Not today. I don't know what that burger was. Sorry. Truth ! Fries were Great. Skip the Burger they call it !

I had the Deluxe burger. The patty was deep fried meat product, and I am sure it was not even real hamburger meat. I was suspect that something was up when, in the days of $10 hamburgers this one only cost $2.50. Kitchen staff was disorganized and shouting back and forth. I won’t be back.

I really enjoyed every thing. What a nice place to meet new people and eat great food. The table as well as bar service was awesome. I will definitely be back!

A true Southern experience. The Busy Bee is one of the few places remaining where you can still this authentic Burger. The Busy Bee burger is a specialty with deep southern roots. Their breakfast lunch and dinner menu is sure to please.

My husband and sister were passing through Cullman and saw The Busy Bee Cafe, decided to stop for a bite to eat. We were so glad we did, we all had cheeseburgers and they were just delicious! ! If you order a hamburger you have to try the homemade chips, absolutely wonderful! ! Also the people are so friendly, make you feel right at home. I highly recommend stopping at this great little cafe if you are ever in Cullman Alabama, you'll be glad you did!!

They have good friend green tomatoes and fried pickles. Just be ready for most of the menu to be fried. It's a good place to get a quick bite and is very laid-back

I went in to the busy bee today wanting a good burger. I got my menu and noticed that there was lettuce on it and didn't want to make a fuss. I started to look at the menu and I seen the Jaeger Burger. It clearly states and I quote, " topped with melted gouda cheese and dark hunters sause." It never did say anything about big chunks of mushroom. Clearly that was never put on it. I had a waitress that was too impatient to take my order that I felt rushed. Her name was Susie. I know she has been here a while but still expect the same respect that I gave her through out the whole experience I was here. My friend has been here for over 30 mins now with a empty glass of water. I am sorry but I will never be here again.
