Domestique Coffee - Satellite (Avondale)

My friend and I stumbled across Domestique on an early morning coffee run. As two experienced coffee drinkers (and a long time barista myself) we were thoroughly impressed. Probably the best cup of drip we’ve had in a long time! Also the latte was great. Highly recommend!! Shoutout to the barista with the sailboat shirt for some great coffee

Purchased some of your single origin Dominican. This stuff is horrible, it’s burnt. Beans are very oily there is no hint of Chocolate Covered Cherries, it’s not round, and it’s definitely not exotic.

I had some of this coffee a while back and it was an 8/10... this stuff is horrible and only good to put on the flowers.

They were wonderful, the atmosphere was very laid back and inviting. Would be a great place to grab a coffee and study or work on a paper (many people were). The employees were stellar, and the service was awesome! A friend of mine has a strange diet due to health reasons and she asked about the drinks and opted for water. After she paid he asked her what she was hoping and looking for concerning drinks so that they could better serve people later. I absolutely love that, and so did she because often she feels judged for things of that sort, or feels like a bother, so it meant a lot. We both got a ham and cheese croissant and had them warmed up, and I had an iced coffee. The bread was amazing and the coffee was where I didn't even need sugar or anything. The drink menu was full of options. But the food menu wasn't, (which I didn't mind because that's not the real goal of a coffee shop) however, we went for a early lunch so I don't know about later.

If you don't know, they have board games and old video games lining the walls that you can challenge a friend to while you enjoy your coffee. It was really nice because it kept us engaged and off our phones. They had music playing that was just loud enough that it feels like unless you try, you are in your own space with your group or self and it's really nice. I couldn't hear anyone's video games or anything until I wanted to play myself.

I always stop here when i am in birmingham. the coffee is good and the workers are friendly, plus you could spend hours here playing board games, video games or card games!

I have become a morning regular here and my go-tos are always the batch coffee (they change the roasts to keep it interesting) and the occasional cappuccino. It's obvious the roaster cares about his product and is always friendly when I happen to see him. Good batch coffee and friendly chats with the staff keep me from skipping my DIY pourovers.

Super interesting place. Board games galore, new and old, as well as old school classics of video games. Coffee is unique, golden milk latte was great, and the decor is so cool. Great trip down memory lane for us 90s babies!
