The Mint Cafe

Went back to Wausau for a visit and stopped by the Mint where my Father use to take us as kids.
The food was good and the staff was terrific. We'll stop by next time we are in town.

We stopped here for dinner, before catching a show at the Grand Theatre. Very convenient location, across the grand theatre. It was a Friday night and the place was packed. I was a bit nervous that we would be late to the show. The wait staff, recognized right away that we didn't have much time, she was quick and we were in and out in 30 minutes. Very good service and the food is delicious. I recommend the Wagyu Beef Burger. It's big, my cousin and mom shared it. Also, the milkshake is a must! Good retro decor and atmosphere. Will definitely come back.

Diner food was fine. They have gluten free bread which is why we stopped on our way up north. Cute 50's interior and adjacent to the town common so a great spot.

Excellent little diner with high quality food. Something for everyone on the menu! Good Bloody Mary's as well. Great family atmosphere. Definitely stop in if your in the area.

Just what we wanted! Service was great! Food was excellent... and they may have the best hashbrowns Ive had! Definitely will stop again.

The Mint Cafe catered our daughter's wedding of about 140 guests. The food was absolutely outstanding. We ordered the traditional chicken, roast beef and garlic mashed potatoes. The chicken had the savory homestyle taste that everyone loves, and the roast beef just melted in your mouth! The service was excellent as well. I would highly recommend The Mint for a wonderfully catered meal!

Really good food and service.
A funny situation took place while waiting for our server. A women at the next table was vocally rude about how she never got service. "And that there were hundreds of other restaurant she could go to and she expected good service".
My waiter responded in a very courteous way saying "I'm sorry ma'am but you're not in my section".
The woman at the other table promptly shut up. And then at the end of the meal my waitress said "I'm sorry I had to say that to the lady."
anyway I really appreciated how she stood up for herself and didn't take the rudeness of the customer.

Definitely check out the mint for superb dining and food!!

Waitress was very good. Food was good. We were served in reasonable time. The only thing was the booths were so tight together, I thought I would suffocate. My grandson age 9 fit in booth good, but hard for adults

This has been our families favorite place to eat in Wausau. Consistently the best food and service. Can tell that they care about their customers and the quality of the food they serve.
