I have never ordered nachos at a restaurant and not thought "Wow, that's a huge plate of nachos!" until today. The nachos came on a large platter as expected. The only thing missing was...2/3 of the nachos. I didn't actually count, but if there were more than 25 chips total, I'd be astounded. The second the disengaged server brought them to our table, we all looked at each other as if to say, "Really? That's it?" I'm sad I didn't take a picture. They didn't even try to hide their cheapness by filling it with chips with no toppings. We resorted to dipping the free popcorn (hence the second star) in the nacho cheese sauce.

WTF? Nachos are CHEAP! At least appear to be offering value!

I guess that's why they're getting bought out and closing...

Come Back In We Need You to Do Better! When supporting local business goes wrong :(

We came in for brunch with friends and family visiting Madison, based on past visits that have gone well. Welp not this time.

Our waitress was young and pretty attentive overall but made one major mistake. When a customer with a large group says this particular food item wasn't good at all and my guests asked very politely to take the food away because it wasn't tasting good . Most restaurants' rule is to take the food away no questions (especially if the 98% of food was uneaten) and in most restaurants this is always removed from the bill. Waitress 101.

Well...not here the young lady adds the food to the bill ,then challenges our request to have it removed. We would've tipped you better for providing a good experience and come back in-pun intended.

Instead she says "I will take off half...ahh does that work? "My response no it doesn't. I was going to escalate to a manager but decided to pay the tab and move on. Bad news is I frequently brunch there and now I WILL NOT go back plus actively share the poor customer experience with others. Audacious move young lady over $8.25. (not the money it's the principle).

Come back inn management you should train your staff better. It's all about Service there are PLENTY OF OTHER choices.

Well cheers to our last time doing business Shake my head!

Hopefully the young lady learns or others may not come back either.

Very nice place. The atmosphere is great to sit and talk with friends. Large beer selection and live music on certain nights. You can watch sports here but it is by no means a sports bar.

The food was better than I thought it would be... they have good cheese curds... the atmosphere is not welcoming... kind of like they "prefer their own kind" in there... I don't know how else to say it... I'd probably order to go if I ever returned... I wouldn't feel comfortable sitting down there

Delicious breakfast and a great dive bar feel when you need an escape from the trendy bars in Madison.

We went here only because it was a Monday night and didn't realize the adjacent Essen Haus restaurant was not open on Mondays. Looking for German food to dine on, we we're glad to see the nightly specials were Wiener Schnitzel and Jaeger Schnitzel. Both are not otherwise on their menu, but are really delicious, coming from the same shared Essen Haus kitchen and recipes.

I’m giving this place a three star based upon the last experience I had here. Usually its a great experience but this last one was quite interesting. So my girl and I go in to watch the packers vs raiders this past weekend. We met an awesome bartender named Asif. He introduced himself, asked us our names and then gave us great service. Just after the game ended, we stuck around for another drink. This bartender named “mike” comes in, not really sure how long he’s been there or who hired him but this guy “mike” didn’t like how Asif was pouring our drinks. So, he stands next to Asif and shows him “how to pour multiple drinks by using less alcohol and still giving a show.” I guess we all know that places skimp on alcohol but this guy literally gave the grand show in front of customers... the funny thing is, when I told the owner, he just decided to walk away into Essen Haus and not even confront the bartender about the issue. I guess thats a common practice at Comeback Inn. I’ll only buy beers from there (that’s if I go back in), and I’m definitely not getting served by “mike”.

It was not ok and wont come back. Had the mac cheese shrimp & sausage, the jaegerschnitzel and the gravy was not good, and some beer. Not the best we have ever had, and didnt really like the band. Couldnt understand them and reggae?? No....

Food is always delicious! Service was debatable...... Definitely a fun place to hang out for breakfast & drinks after.

Sat down for 60 min with only seeing our server long enough to get drinks. She was walking around talking to the bartender. Our server was coughing into her hands the entire time with not washing. The place was slow the entire time we were there. My 1st time will be the last time I ever go here. The people that came in after us got their food after 15 mins. Had to go to the bar to refill water.
