Cargo Coffee

A coffee place innocuous and practical. I just walked in for a dark roast and took it outside to drink. Coffee was fine.

Came here on my rare chance to work remotely. They have a good coffee/drink selection and the seating is plentiful. Many of the tables/chairs have available outlets which is fantastic for doing work if you are lucky to do it remotely.

A good cup of coffee, at least for their medium and dark roasts. Mochas are good as well. They have a tasty selection of pastries, and serve Gotham bagels. They also have sandwiches, beer, and wine, but I have yet to try any of those. Overall typically a good place to meet up with classmates to work on group work.

Cargo checks every box any decent person could want from a coffee shop.

Coffee? Delicious.
Service? The entire staff's super friendly and helpful.
Outlets? EVERYWHERE.
Music? Excellent. Not just coffee-shop-Songza-playlist excellent.
Couches? Couches on couches.
Room? Plenty. You'll always have a seat.
Noise level? Quiet enough to get some work done.
Windows? Bunch of big ones. Great for staring out.
Parking? There's an attached garage with free parking. You're good.

Conclusion: GO TO CARGO.

This central isthmus coffee shop provides tasty accruements to enjoy with your coffee experience along with a convenient drive-through for those on the go. Inside this Cargo Coffee shop, you'll find a diverse and practical set of choices for meetings, lounging, studying, or enjoying a local artist or other community events. Overall the staff is kind and helpful besides offering great coffee, snacks, and treats.

I really like this coffee shop, the coffee is tasty, the food isn't bad, the location is good, its a great place to do homework or telecommute, the atmosphere is unique, they have great poetry and music events, and the staff is -usually- great. Their morning crew is consistently pretty crabby. If you're an early riser I'd suggest walking the extra half mile to Collectivo (also open at 6:00 am) where the staff doesn't seem to mind being at work. ⛅

Coffee is good, though nothing special, location is nice. Not a huge fan of the apartment buildings above it, but the interior is very nice. Only complaint would be street parking, plus the fact that Johnson Public House serves better coffee and it's right around the corner.

This place is great. The weekday staff are incredibly friendly and great in helping me select a flavor for my latte. I went with maple, and it was amazing! I also love the inviting space with maps all over the walls.

Cargo is my weakness in Madison and I rarely visit other shops now. Cargo makes their own coffee, and it's really something special. They have a good assortment of light food and pastries so don't pass those up! The staff are pretty laid-back and nice, though ordering stupidly complicated drinks like I occasionally do might be met with a raised eyebrow. They sell their coffee in the stores as well as some coffee mugs and shirts, which I'd highly recommend gifting to friends and family if you know coffee lovers.

LOVE this coffee shop. The vibe and atmosphere are great, and it's also a great study spot as a college student who lives off campus. The coffee is fantastic, but I still have many more blends to try :)
