It's a cute and cozy coffee house to hang out. While I do not drink coffee (so can't speak for the quality) they do have a variety of coffee drinks and espresso. Their bakery is delicious! They have a good looking mixture of pre made sandwiches and salads, soup. The reason why I chose not to give a 5 star is their tea selection is more like a 3 star. Usually I expect a coffee shop to have higher quality teas, or even loose leaf, but they just had a variety of Bigelow. Regardless, I love coffee shops and am so glad this one is here!

Coffee and baked goodies in downtown Green Lake. Friendly owner and staff. You'd never know owner is up at 4 am baking, or so the local legend goes! Keep up the good work Carrie!

Great place to relax with a cup of coffee. They offer a large assortment of coffees and blended coffees. Wonderful and friendly service in a nice atmosphere. Also a good variety of ice creams.

Very nice staff and good coffee. They're special drinks are a little too sweet for me, and the frappes (sassafraps) were ground up too fine (no ice chunks). BUT. My sister loved how sweet it was an claimed it was the best frappe she'd ever had.
They have DELICIOUS baked goods and Amish donuts, and a variety if speciality drinks to choose from. Inexpensive and a cozy location.

Always a pleasure to visit here. Coffee is lively and robust and there's always a jar of gluten free cookies for those of us with allergies!

A great place for coffee, baked goods and I think I saw ice cream. The shop moved to a larger space in May of 19. That alone indicates the quality of the shop. Stop in its a friendly place and with free WiFi too!

Support local! My wife and I travel to Green lake at least once a year from Cedar Rapids Iowa and this is the first time we noticed sassafras. Way better than any of your chain coffee places!

I'd give 0 if I could. They had no bakery items today and the manager said they wouldn't be making any more because they had a lot of costumers...wouldnt you want to make more food if they had more customers? Anyways, we miss Guths. They had much better food at way more affordable prices. Also I'll add they gave us the wrong order. Nothing went right.

The atmosphere is completely different in the new location and not for the better. The owner has also hired on newer younger staff members that are not friendly, knowledgeable, or honest. The last time me and my daughter came to Sassafras was in the old location and I had asked about their bagels to see if they were vegan, the owner went to check the ingredients and came back and said they were not so we settled on chips and a smoothie with no yogurt; fast forward to our most recent visit in the new location and I had asked about them again since we were hungry and didn't want chips, for all I know she could have switched them out to be vegan friendly. So the young girl working their walked away to make it appear that she went and checked the ingredients, clearly not since me and my daughter had upset tummies that afternoon and night; I had also ordered a chocolate sassafrap with almond milk, maybe the almond milk wasn't put in there, or it was a combination of both the bagels not being vegan and the drink having cows milk, I don't know but for a $10 sale I was lied to and mine and my daughter's digestive systems were dirsupted.

This is such a great local coffee shop! Their drink menu rotates seasonally, their baked goods are delightful, and the ice cream is wonderful.
