An amazing coffee shop to rival any I have been to in DC & Northern Virginia... and it's in a small town in West Virginia. Who would have guessed? Pastries and breakfast items are made in house, and are delicious. Coffee drinks have some nice creative touches.
Meh. *Super cute* space, the coffee and bagel were just okay and the service was unfriendly and disinterested. Don't care if I go back.
*Edit in reply to response: My husband and I were there Tues, the 4th, around 8:30am. We had a blueberry cheese danish (which my husband loved) and a bagel, along with 2 drip coffees. Although we weren't jazzed about the coffees or the bagel, had the cashier/server been at all warm or welcoming, that would have gone a long way toward a good experience that would make us want to return.
The first time I visited Timberline for a weekend and frequented Tiptop it was a great experience every time. I went every day I was there, bought baked goods and lattes and had genuine friendly service. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit things had changed for the worse. The service was not friendly anymore, on Friday night I ordered a burger, my order was wrong and it was super expensive for what I received -- $13.95 for a burger and some chips!!! Also, when I ordered a chai latte, my cup was only filled about 70 percent. Very disappointing.
Excellent atmosphere and fast service. I can't comment on the prices because I don't go to coffee shops very often. I just went because I was with a group.
Some of the best coffee I've ever had! Also, the have great food and great products! We stop here everytime were in the area! You shoukd check them out!
Heard about these guys from a tiny specialty coffee shop back in Fredericksburg VA, so I stopped in on my way towards Columbus. Absolutely blown away by the experience. This shop easily would hold its weight against any third wave coffee shop in DC or the West Coast. Carefully selected roaster, 40 Weight, puts out top tier coffee, and I'm really surprised that such a small town shop didn't settle for a roaster like Counter Culture.
Tip Top also boasts skilled baristas with great attitudes, high quality brewing gear, and a neat attractive shop as well. Wish I had time to try the food or drinks.
Surprised to see such a fabulous Cafe located amongst such beautiful scenery. Enhances the trip to this part of the world when you can get such great coffee and pastries and picnic lunches. A must stop when in the area.

Best place for a hot drink in Thomas. Multiple options for all tastes. Expect lines.

Quaint, with delicious baked goods, coffee and snacks, with a friendly staff.
