Lost Dog is the best place around for quality coffee. This unique coffee shop nestled in the heart of historic downtown Shepherdstown is by far my go to for coffee but the offer so much more. There are teas, italian sodas, and even milkshakes. You shouldn't pass up the opportunity to try put this one of a kind shop!

Visited Shepherdstown this weekend with my wife and looked forward to trying this coffee shop. The first interaction was less than pleasant to put mildly. The gentleman who I assumed was the owner had made my drink incorrectly and when I had asked for the correction he rolled his eyes at me and sighed. While remaking the drink he poured at least 6oz of syrup in ny drink In front of me. Don’t want to assume, but felt he was doing it out of spite for being corrected. While he was making the drink, he was also being verbally aggressive and berating one of his staff members. It was wildly uncomfortable.

Decided to go back the next day to give another try, we all have bad days. The world and businesses are struggling. Again the same gentleman, again the same uninviting demeanor. Had simply asked for an iced coffee with a dash of milk. Now I know why it’s called the lost dog, tasted like a dogs bath water with overly burnt coffee beans. Literally the worst coffee I have ever had. It was almost comical at how bad this was. No I am not trolling. No this isn’t a fake review. Two days, two coffees poured out. Would care less if the gentleman was friendly.

First rate cappuccino from great espresso beans. They also have a wide selection of cookies, teas, and a range of non-milk options for your coffee/tea that I haven't tried but look great. Wonderful friendly service in a space with an eclectic vibe. Great art on the walls (and some skin). Best coffee in Shepherdstown.

First time there. Great drinks with lots of character! They took there time making my order to make sure they were superior quality. The nice shaded seating area outside allowed me to enjoy my drink and relax. I will definitely be back!

Wonderful place, very nice customer service, my daughter had a hot chocolate and the staff went above and beyond. She spilled the drink and they were very gracious about it. It was appreciated.

The whole place is really inappropriate, and the guy who worked there wasn't welcoming. I was too afraid to ask for decaf. The coffee is really good, but that was about the only thing I liked. If you want to see a place that looks like the inside of a junk drawer (including several bras hanging from the ceiling) then go ahead. But I would definitely not recommend it if you've got kids with you.

The coffee was pretty good, but the experience was kind of weird. There really isn’t a menu so you kind of have to know what you want. If you want an iced coffee don’t look for a straw because they don’t have them (which would have changed my decision to get a drink in a cup full of ice). Overall I would recommend this place.

I've been going to this coffee shop for over 15 years, not because of the eccentric atmosphere, or the art displays, or for the pretty good espresso drinks, or the great brewed coffee, but because no other coffee shop can compete with the Lost Dog in Shepherdstown! Every other place that's tried has shut down within a few months. When I was still at Shepherd University, it was a nice place to escape campus and meet people or study as well. I definitely have some great memories of this place! Xo

I was spoiled going to school right next to this place. I never fully appreciated it till I moved away. Took me over a year to find something even half as good. They know beverages. The insane decor is complemented by a rotation of different artist works. The coffee is art the art is art and lost importantly... SOMETIMES THEY HAVE STICKERS!!!! Also don’t expect your arse kissed.

Love, love, love Lost Dog Coffee - cannot say enough good things, everything they make is terrific, it's always fun to stop by and talk to people. If you do not know what you are in the mood for you can give them a direction and they will recommend something for you, they have never steered me wrong! It's the type of coffee I take a drink of and feel like everything is right with the world!
