Kafiex Roasters - Coffee Lab

Came across Kafiex while attending the Vancouver farmers market. The shop is a large space with ample seating that would be especially suitable for use as a workspace. The baristas were friendly and knowledgeable. I got a V60 brew of their Ethiopia. It had some nice notes of chocolate and graham cracker. I personally would have preferred an Ethiopia to be a touch more bright and fruity, but that’s all a matter of preference. The shop also has a viewing window into the roasting space. There wasn’t any roasting happening while I was there, but I love that concept and I think it’d be cool to watch when there is roasting going on.

Came here with a friend when I got into Portland!

Good:
- breakfast sandwich with croissant was amazing! I hung on every bite and it was so flakey and good. Fast service too!

Bad:
- Chai latte kind of tasted strange - perhaps it’s the Oregon chai taste but I wasn’t a huge fan and it had a bit of a bitter taste.

Overall a pretty nice place to get breakfast and saw a fair amount of people working. Cute vibe and ambiance inside but wouldn’t come again for the coffee. Breakfast is solid.

Been here several times and love the location & atmosphere but that's definitely part of what you are paying for. Not enough bang for my buck to make it a place to regularly frequent especially when you pay for parking nearby. An 8oz matcha oatmilk latte will set you back $7 and the $13 pretzel bites didn't even half-fill the container they were served in (which was sad because the dipping sauces were so good). Stick to the yummy croissants, French toast, & baked goods of you stop by. The almond croissant is heavenly.

Wow, the donuts are amazing. If there are cinnamon donuts in the case get them. They usually sell out so hurry.

The baker’s, Emorie and Seidy, are top notch.

Breakfast sandwiches are gourmet 👌

The drip is good. Which makes sense considering the owners are constantly at national competitions and going on trips to coffee farms to get it just right.

The shop is like a fish bowl so you get plenty of natural light for getting work done or just getting some rays when the sun is out. We all need it with the winter weather up here.

I personally like the BLUE MATCHA. Quite the treat.

Kafiex coffee house is definitely a place to visit to get a kick to your morning start. I ordered the Masala Chai Latte and the Cajeta Latte. Both very good either warm or cold. The coffee tender, Jacob, being friendly and helpful when asked questions about the coffee and drinks.
Highly recommended to visit.

I'm always happy to support local coffee shops, and Coffee Lab is a short walking distance from where I work. I will definitely be coming here during my breaks whenever I need a quick caffeine fix. I've been here twice and the employees with whom I have come into contact have been helpful to me. Also, the cafe is clean and nicely decorated.

Though their selection is relatively small, they have a pretty good menu here, including a unique caffeine-free blue matcha. I would also recommend their caramel latte. They also have a few rotating pastries throughout the day that seem to be of high-quality, I've tried their lemon bread.

Great coffee! Both of the girls there were very friendly and helpful! They have lots of outdoor seating, and some under a canopy too.
The cajeta (goat milk dulce de leche) latte was balanced just right, and the normal latte my mom got was great as well. FYI, if you prefer less fruity coffees I would mention it. They only do classic sizes. They also do pour-overs and siphon coffee (very cool).
The bakery is absolutely oustanding!! Shown is a (vegan) oatmeal cookie that was simply amazing. On the shelf they have turmeric honey drinks, 1 decaf and 3-4 choices of coffee roast/blends, and a chai blend (just 7g of sugar :D). They also have a great collection of books to read while there.
Its the perfect location too, Esther Short Park right next to it has many places to walk and sit, or go down to the waterfront.
Another note of detail - the shop and designs are beautiful. I really like the blue recurring print with various coffee devices, it would make great wrapping paper on the holidays. The design of their coffee bags are some of my favorites, and the valve does not get in the way when you roll it up (pet peeve of mine).
Update:
The siphon brewing is really cool to watch, and the resulting coffee(using the three amigos blend) was very clean and bold. The oatmeal bar is sweet and 'indulgent', and the biscuit my mom got was perfectly delicate with a slight bit of rosemary. Still a great shop!

Nice staff, good selection of baked goods. They don't have wi-fi available to customers. Not a downside, just thought I would provide the knowledge. I needed it for a specific task that was not working on my home wifi network and assumed a coffee shop would have wifi. Saving anyone else who might run into the same issue as most coffee shops do have wifi available. Still had a nice time enjoying a beverage in a neat location.

Good coffee, but don't go when they're roasting their beans, it stinks like a million hobos in a small room, and the smell will put you off of coffee forever. But, it has a much better, full bodies, freshly brewed taste that you can't get at your local Starbucks.

Cool place! Good coffee and nice to have a place on the waterfront with outdoor seating. However, a lot of the tables outside arent stable, they wobble quite a bit which can make it hard to work. You should also know they dont offer WIFI. This is an awesome place to meet you up with someone or if you're walking by, but not necessarily a working/study environment.
