I have been coming to this coffee shop for over three years. At times fairly regularly. I am a wedding photographer and this place used to be one of my go-to spots for consultations and editing. The coffee is good as is the atmosphere. As time has gone on though I have had more and more bad experiences with the staff who work here. From them being slightly rude when turning in a coffee that doesn’t taste correct to one time (that was frankly the worst interaction or lack thereof that I have had at a coffee shop) where I stood alone in line for five minutes waiting for someone to take my order and leaving without anyone even talking to me. While standing there alone at the register, there was a lady working on baking pastries to the right. She had dark hair and has worked there for quite some time. She looked directly at me twice and didn’t even acknowledge me or ask for someone else to come help me (there was someone in back working on dishes I think). I was having a consultation with a couple at the time and I returned to our table without any drinks. They too couldn’t believe that no one came to help. Anyway, after that experience and the others before that, I rarely visit the shop.

I’m only giving 1 star to the breakfast sandwiches. Purchased a $10 breakfast sandwich and received it cold with a fake egg. It was sub-par at best.

I love the vibe and atmosphere here. The food and coffee is great and the lounging areas are really nice. It's right next to the park so grabbing some quality food here before a picnic is highly recommended 👍🏼so glad to see that they made it through covid!

I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is always creative and the building itself is charming. Both the food and drinks are good (though the coffee is weak for my taste). However, lately we've been going there for pastries and there seems to be a repeated mix up that is getting old rather fast. Sometimes we have to order our food to go and leave quickly, but I don't feel it's fair to pin the continued mistake on us. It's happened the last three times we've been there. We order a muffin, while standing there asking them what muffins are what and then order. However when we sit down to eat or take our food to work, the wrong muffin is in our containers. First time it happened, we returned and we got an apology from the extremely friendly staff. However, a friendly smile and apology the other two times doesn't change the fact that I'm wasting money on food I'm not asking for. I may tend to get a drink from time to time when I'm in the area (not worth going out of my way to eat there anymore) but I will no longer put money into their food. Perhaps others don't face this and that's fine, but I hope one day this gets reconciled and then I may start supporting The Shop once again.

I always like coming here! They have the best cream cheese bagels! Super delicious. There's also an outdoor seating area which is really nice during the summer. I also really enjoy the design too, super hipster. There's lot's of beautiful art on the walls that you can appreciate too as you're drinking on your cup of coffee.

The best bakery around especially for gluten free and vegan items. Every one I've tried is absolutely delicious. Our son can't have gluten or egg so we even had The Shop make the cupcakes for his birthday party. Everyone went on and on about how wonderful they were. We come by regularly for a treat.

Insanely overpriced. $20 for a tiny drink and 2 bagels! My wife got a bagels sandwich and a short drink, I got a bagels with cream cheese. That doesn't add up to $20!!
The food was mediocre. Could do better at home.
On top of all that, we spent 20 minutes outside in the cold while people who ordered after us got their stuff first...
Will never go back.

Cute coffee shop in the Perry neighborhood. that set up business in a former auto shop. Nice atmosphere and set up.
Staff is friendly.
Coffee is well prepared and sweets are reasonably priced. Other light fares are available if you have a little bit more of an appetite.

I judge coffee shops on three criteria. Location, product and atmosphere.
The location is in the heart of the Perry District! Can't get much better :-)
The coffee is very good. I've certainly had better but this is very good and everything else looks wonderful but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
The atmosphere? Amazing! This place has an excellent vibe <3
