Surf House Pub & Cafe

My family and I were on vacation to that area, we stopped to get a coffee. Service and drinks were great! I don’t remember name of young girl who helped us but she’s younger, long blonde hair. She was so friendly and genuine! We decided to go back a couple days later and got the complete opposite service from 2 different young ladies. Dirty blonde with a messy bun and another with straight black hair. We weren’t greeted and drinks weren’t as good. Felt like we were bothering them. So mixed feelings. You’d think a small town would appreciate any business at all even if it’s from visitors.

I have been coming here for years. I have not had a more rude barista than Caitlin (?) the brunette with a resting glare on her face. Every time we have come in on this trip she has been impolite and rude. She has no reason to be rude. She also messed up our order 2/3 times and didn’t offer to fix it, one was drinkable and one was not. She does not seem to like her job. The most recent time we came in (today 7/25) she looked at our family and said “oh my god” thinking we couldn’t hear her. Unfortunately we won’t be returning this trip which sucks because it is one of our favorite places to go at the beach. Maybe next year, if Caitlin isn’t working.

Surprisingly good burgers. Great service. Kinda loud when busy, all hard surfaces.

Okay first of all I will say the coffee was fire and the shop is super cute I loved it. But while she was making mine and my boyfriends coffee, she dropped a lid, picked it up off the floor under the espresso machine then put it back on my cup lmao. I didn’t say anything because she was also on the phone and looked super busy and overwhelmed but like damn 😂🤮🤮

Great service, great latte. Do not expect latte art but everything else: Super friendly staff and a super tasty beverage :-).

This place is fantastic! Excellent coffee, made perfectly. The consistent crema on the americanos and lattes were testament to how experienced the barista is, every day for a week the drinks were perfect.

The staff is friendly, warm, and even took note of how we like our drinks and remembered them each day after.

The homemade pastries, cinnamon rolls, and hot fresh cookies are exceptional.

Comfy couches and an in-tune piano to play!

We would give 10 stars if we could!

Stayed in Pacific Beach for two days and grabbed coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and a cinnamon roll. Everything was very delicious and the two girls were friendly. Would stop by again if we are ever in this area again.
