I like finding new places to get a good deli sandwich outside of Richmond. Fantastic spot in Powhatan just off Patterson Avenue and 522. Old gas station converted to a deli. Very good menu. Sandwich was fantastic! Definitely going back on a Saturday for lunch!

The staff here is super sweet, the food is really good. We stopped in for breakfast, the crossant sandwiches were perfection (crossant was neither dry nor greasy). My son had the pancakes, I took a bite of them with no syrup or butter and they were so good they didn't need anything extra. I had to try that chocolate oat stout which was scrumptious!

The best food I've had in a long time! Will be back again!!
Edit: Back again, still amazing!
Last edit: So, I've tried every sandwich on the hot and cold menus at least once. The food is always delicious and the staff is very friendly. It's definitely worth dropping in anytime you're nearby.

This is the sweetest breakfast and lunch cafe! It was recommended by a friend's son who said the breakfast options are delicious. My husband said the Reuben was the best he's ever had. If you're out for a drive in Powhatan and want a unique place to eat, this is it. Just get there before they close at 2:30.

This was my first time eating at Maidens cafe and it was fantastic! I ordered the Virginian (honey ham, cheddar cheese, and apple butter on grilled cinnamon bread). It was cooked to perfection! Ooey gooey cheddar cheese and the cinnamon bread was lightly grilled with the perfect amount of crispness while still being soft. And the apple butter adds the perfect touch. I would highly recommend this cafe and the Virginian sandwich!

Generally I would always praise the good food here but I just recently had a breakfast sandwich this week and it was pitiful. I bought a sausage and egg sandwich and it came on a croissant bun. By the time I made it outside to the table the grease had made the bottoms of the sandwich soggy an almost impossible to pick up. When I picked up the sandwich, the grease just dropped out of the sandwich. The sausage was very bland and had no flavor. Through away the sandwich and left.

Have stopped many times on trips to visit family. Never disappointed for a lunch stop. Great soups, salads and sandwiches. Have never had one of their breakfasts, but baised on our linch experiences I'm betting great breakfast as well.
One of our favorite places for lunch when we’re in the area. Dog friend outside in patio. (Would recommend a bit more attention to outdoor seating area in a daily basis. Both times we were there had to ask for table and seating to be wiped down.)

Love, love this place. Has the best sandwiches ever! They always taste fresh and are very generous with their meat. Their prices are very generous considering what you get, especially the meals. So far I have had the Virginian, Italian hero, roast beast, and Rueben. They are all delicious, but my favorite would have to be the Italian. Also love their potato salad and pink lemonade. Would recommend this place to any and everyone. Great friendly and attentive service.

The atmosphere is awesome and the people are super friendly. I had the BBBLT (Bacon, bacon, bacon, lettuce and tomato) and boy, was there a lot of bacon. Breakfast ends at 11am so if you're wanting to try any of their amazing things on that side of the menu, hurry up to get your order in because this place is a Virginia favorite. Definitely on my list of places to hit on the east coast. Next up, the Virginian sandwich!
