Coalescence Coffee Company: A Community-Oriented Coffee Shop
If you're looking for a coffee shop that not only serves great coffee but also gives back to the community, Coalescence Coffee Company is the place to be. This coffee shop is a not-for-profit organization that aims to build a genuine community in Norfolk, Virginia. Their commitment to seeing the city flourish is evident in the quality of their coffee and the warm atmosphere they provide.
The baristas at Coalescence Coffee Company are passionate about the journey of understanding the chemistry behind an excellent cup of coffee. They are obsessed with the pursuit of perfecting extraction, refining their skills as baristas, and constantly pushing the boundaries of beverage creation. Whether you're in the mood for a classic latte or a unique signature drink, you won't be disappointed with their offerings.
The shop's interior is bright, open, and full of natural light, making it a great place to study, work, or chat with friends. They also reserve their rooms for private events for a reasonable fee. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making you feel at home as soon as you walk in.
Coalescence Coffee Company offers a variety of gluten-free baked goods, pastries, and cookies that are uncommon. They also have a limited selection of quiches that are pleasantly surprising. However, some customers have noted that their pastry selection is minimal.
Overall, Coalescence Coffee Company is a great place to enjoy quality coffee, chill on wifi, and relax. Their attention to detail in brewing quality pour-overs and consistently producing quality coffee products sets the bar high and makes an impact on the coffee community at large.

The interior of this place is amazing. So covid friendly with such a large seating area and spread out tables. Also, the coffee and pastries are awesome and the secret menu is a ton of fun. And the owners/baristas are very nice and help you make up your mind if you’re not sure what to get. My favorite place to go study (:

For our first time visiting we were left a little disappointed. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff very friendly, but our wait for 2 drinks was unacceptable. We sat for 45 minutes for a latte and americano, the latter of which was 90% water and had no taste of coffee. The staff seemed to work very slow, were too focused on being precise and got an extreme back up of drinks. We hope to visit again once things have smoothed out but not in the immediate future. Again, everyone working was very apologetic but we won’t want to waste so much time again.

A quintessential example of a high-end coffee shop. Sleek, modern designs in a post-industrial setting combine with tasteful beats for a perfect studying/chatting/reading environment. Their ethically sourced and expertly roasted coffee is top-notch, and they always have some great signature drinks on rotation. Can't recommend them enough!

Such a great spot! I came here for a morning yoga class and grabbed an oatmilk cappuccino afterwards. The atmosphere is open and creative. There are tables, a bar, and some comfy chairs and a couch. Great little spot to hang out or work.

Typically hipsters can have good products but are reluctant to have human interactions. I've been to Coalescence several times and they have great service with great coffee.

Have you tried the Kinda Blue? No? Well go now and get your mind blown. It's an iced blueberry and lemon espresso drink and honestly every sip is like retasting a whole new flavour EACH time. I have honestly never experienced coffee like this (and I was working in coffee for over 6 years). Plus I mean the people there are so friendly you cant but help love their energy.
It's open and bright and simply refreshing when you walk in and then trust me, try the Kind of Blue (the name is that or pretty close) and you will definitely be blown away.
