Best muffins anywhere! It’s a 12 hour drive from St Louis to visit our grandkids in northern Virginia, but we always make time for stops at the Red Truck Bakery. The cranberry orange walnut are our favorite! No pics—we ate them!

I was disappointed in the fact that they had a case full of delicious looking quiches but you could not get a piece by the slice. The staff member was a bit rude about the whole thing, making excuses that sometimes they do and sometimes they don't depending on supply and demand, and it was just Easter. Which left me confused, should I have demanded??? So we settled on the breakfast biscuit sandwich as it was the only offering that was not a "sweet" treat. I know, I know....this is a bakery. My review is probably not fair, because they don't claim to offer "breakfast" of a sustainable kind. The biscuit breakfast sandwich was gross. The cookies we got for later were just ok. I am sure their cakes and goodies are wonderful. But it was just extremely disappointing to not have some other kind of breakfast offering (such as available quiche). My guess is they are more of a catering based type of place, and that is where their focus and attention is (thus the many outstanding reviews). The general walk in public seems to be an afterthought that gets the scraps of what's leftover from the catering business. It's not where their bread gets buttered.

This is the 2nd visit to this bakery I found off 66 West in Marshall Virginia. I totally recommend this place that makes their own homemade goodies!

Unfortunately,I can't speak to how well the cake taste. I wasn't able to indulge since the first slice, that I cut, had a huge eggshell. See picture for proof. Initially, I thought it was a piece of white chocolate. I, then, remembered that I did not order a cake that had any chocolate.I reached out to Goldbelly, the vendor for Red Truck Bakery. Their offer was to send me another cake from the same bakery. Now, why would I want to get another cake from the same Bakery? Obviously quality control is an issue. In addition, I ordered the cake for my birthday, 10.22, for dinner and brunch with family and friends. I have no need for a cake that would be received weeks later. Goldbelly's 2nd option/offer was to credit my GB account for $13.95, that means I would have to spend more money in order to use the credit. As an FYI the cake was $26 I had a $25 promo code from T-Mobile. The $13.95 was the cost of shipping. My request was that my original form of payment be credited for the $13.95. Goldbelly didn't honor that fair request. I received an inferior product. Any company worth their Articles of Incorporation would make every effort to make the customer whole. Not offer a solution that only benefits the Corporation.
Do not order from Goldbelly. If you receive a defective product they will keep your money or offer a solution that only benefits them, not you the victim.

I've been to their order in window before but I haven't been inside their store until last Saturday. It was crowded even after fifteen minutes past their open time. They had so many choices in prepared cakes and pies. I just bought three breakfast items for my dad and myself and while their breakfast muffin was delicious, I couldn't tell if the apple donut had apples in it or not. So if I'm there for breakfast again, I'll just get the breakfast muffin and a cinnamon roll. My mom seemed to enjoy it after I bought it for her.

If you haven’t been to Red Truck Rural Bakery, check it out. It has received many intense accolades and shout outs by well known magazines and also, New York Times, have been on NPR’s Splendid Table, and of course former, President Obama wrote about their baked goods and their pies on Pi Day.
His take is that they make-“darn good pie.”
We had made a pit stop in August of this year, and had the egg, bacon, and cheese on biscuit sandwich and orange cranberry walnut muffin. The sandwich had a taste of smooth texture, with mild saltiness and with a hint of sweetness from the spread of homemade jam.
I have had orange cranberry muffins but this tops all the other ones I’ve had. Oh my, this orange cranberry walnut muffin had a nut in every bite. Well, that wins my heart any time, I am nuts about nuts! That’s not why it topped it. Loved the flavors- tartness from the cranberries and a little hint of citrusness from orange and just a hint of sweetness. Moist, fluffy, and pillow soft like, melts in your mouth. The best muffin to date!
We met the general manager, Jenna, I chatted with her and shared our experience with her. She is a lovely person and give you suggestions on what to buy. She is so down to earth. On our way out, she gifted us a bag of homemade granola. They are known for their granola. Love the granola! Thank you Jenna!!

I went for coffee and it was being used as BLM headquarters and filled with people saying horrible things about white people and when I complained they said the owner invited them I will never go back

Cookies were stale, so we're the baked goods at the counter. Took cookies home for my hubby and they were stale too. Cute place but counter baked goods could be better. We stopped on our way from DE to NOLA.

I really enjoy their breakfast sandwiches. Their scones, croissant and muffins are delicious. The staff have always been very polite and helpful. It also smells lovely as soon as you walk in. Plenty of parking behind the bakery as well. You can sit indoors or outdoors if you're more comfortable there.
