This is the best latte I've ever had. I wish they had more pastries or food options. They do coffee and they do it fabulously. I'm visiting from out of town and I'm sad I can't take this coffee shop home with me. I love the theme and the vibe of the shop. Employees are friendly. 10/10.

I had the Guardian (Sugar free) it was so delicious. I totally recommend anyone to come check this place out! Grace and Autumn gave exceptional customer service which is hard to find now a days. They also give back to the military community in so many ways. Right now you can buy socks and they will donate a pair to an active duty member. The atmosphere is great here and I can go on and on about this place, lol Come check it out I promise you won’t regret it ^_^

This was our first time in Pale Horse Coffee. Very chill vibe. The coffee is so smooth. We got a nirto cold brew with sweet cream (cinamon) and an iced mocha coffee. Absolutely delicious! The cinnamon roll was good as well! The ladies there are also very nice and so quick!

The people and the coffee were excellent. however, I was a little concerned with the theme. While it was encouraging to see the military paraphernalia on the walls, what struck me as not good, was the language on my cup.
It said things like “stay caffeinated” “look unapproachable” and I think the other one was “stay angry.”
I’d rather my community be made more pure, and if somebody came around and started telling my children any of those things, I would tell them they need to get away from my children. Therefore, it is my strong, encouragement and counsel to those who are running the pale horse, to consider putting more wholesome friendly and inviting phrases on their marketing, as the language currently does not match their demeanor, and the friendly community that I’ve witnessed with my own eyes that gathers there.
All this said, I do plan to go back, and I wish the business well that it would grow to be an inviting and wholesome place for the professionals and the community to gather.
5/9/23 EDIT post-convo with Gray, the owner.
For the record, Gray was very polite. And he did listen patiently to my concerns. And the fact that he was willing to address them and make the changes—taking them to heart, is greatly encouraging about a business that not only cares about making a profit, but also the community around them!
I Would also like to point out that he informed me that the entire design and theme, came from a previous co-owner, who no longer is part of the company. He has replaced “STAY ANGRY” and “ LOOK UNAPPROACHABLE” with the American Flag.
I think that is a fantastic change, much more in line with the entire businesses’ heart in supporting veterans, and their patriotism, for things like the US Constitution and the liberty for which this country stands. 🇺🇸
I’m glad Mr. Gray brought up that these reviews do affect his livelihood, and I would hope again, as I expressed before that, as a community we would value the things that are good, noble, kind, and pure.
even if the popular culture is drifting towards the love of that which is Deadly, wrong, and just plain evil. Therefore we should still stand for what is true and righteous as both the Lord Jesus Christ proclaimed, and lived out, as well as the brave men and women and veterans of this country, who have laid down their lives, so that our children and the children’s children of their neighbors may have the liberties for which this country stands.
It is my prayer, many of the people that gather inside the Pale Horse Coffee shops would be encouraged to likewise be both faithful in God (as a righteous, holy, and loving compassionate creator, who hates wickedness as the psalms says), but also encourage and educate the community on the liberties and rights and duties for each of us as citizens has to our neighbor in our country.
To God be the glory, and may he bless this establishment, so that his spirit of truth, and liberty, and brotherly affection may overcome and conquer the spirit of death that is at work in the hearts of unbelievers.
“Therefore, thus saith the Lord Yahweh: ‘Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand’”
Isaiah 28 KJV
What Christ is saying through the mouth his servant: Isaiah, is that though the sons of men have an unhealthy fixation with that which is a curse: Sin & Death (the work of the wicked one) the word of God shall overcome! He is the truth and eternal life who shall annihilate that morbid covenant, and for those who receive a love of the truth he shall wed himself to them in an everlasting covenant of blessedness, purity, and enjoy the show never be taken away.

This has been one of my favorite coffee shops I've been to! Awesome coffee (especially the beans!) My favorite has been Ethiopia~
I tend to go when it's slow, and it's such a comfy place to chill and get caffeinated.

I frequent the one on South battlefield Blvd.. I've never been to the one in Greenbrier. Much bigger but the same courteous, professional yet relaxing customer service. Trust me, I'll be back. You don't have to worry about me being unfaithful with that OTHER coffee place😉.

Friendly employees & great coffee - great atmosphere and plenty of room to sit down with your laptop and get some work done. Their coffee pods were on sale the last time I stopped by and they are superior quality as well as compostable!

I love what these guys stand for. And the coffee isn't bad. The espresso has some rich toffee notes to it. The pour over isn't amazing but it's still good. I'll be excited to visit again.

Love Pale Horse! Good veteran owned local coffee! Great atmosphere. I’m praying they continue to thrive now that Black Rifle Coffee has come to Hampton Roads.
