A really cute place for a concert. I saw Andy Shauf there and enjoyed it immensely. The staff that works there is very friendly and the drinks are very reasonably priced for concerts. I would love to come back here anytime someone I like is playing. The town is also very cute and would love to have walked it if I didn't have someplace to be after the concert.

Cool interior, funky location (kind of underground). Venue very bare bones, no-fuss, big wide area. Good for more intimate performances feel.

I somehow stumbled upon this place looking for something eat, no idea how since it doesn't come up as a restaurant, but it should. I was reluctant to go in because it was open mic night and there was already someone speaking, but my fiance said, why wouldn't we go in, let's check it out. We had the most wonderful time. For bar food, it was better than I expected. There were plenty of beers on tap to choose from. The comedians made us feel welcomed, and we listened to Chris Alan's album on our ride home which made us enjoy our time there even more. The unexpected comedy show was the highlight of our day!

Saw a small concert. Great artist, ok venue. Seats are uncomfortable, sound was a bit off. Kinda picky about my music venues. (Reply to reply: Sorry, I'm an out-of-towner no repeat performance for this girl. )

We stopped in while walking the downtown mall for a quick snack on a Monday night. It happened to be an open mic night. We had a blast the group of comedians did a great job and it was like watching a bunch of friends joking around and having a good time. It was an unexpected surprise but we will definitely stop in again if we are back up that way.

Visited for my first time to see David Wax Museum. Great space and liked the small scale and the intimacy of the space. Obviously that doesn't work for all acts but in this case it was great. Good bar service from the staff. I did not eat there so I cannot comment on the food. But I will definitely return based on this first experience.

Went there for the first time for a concert. It had a really cool atmosphere, and the concert area seemed to be designed for concerts by people who thought about the space and how to make it so everyone could have a positive concert experience no matter where you were standing/seated. I loved the benches along the columns and the walls - they allowed a short person like me to see above the crowd as well as offer extra seating without cumbersome chairs. Not a super-great draft selection, but sufficient for the evening.

Whether you love local comedy, local music, or drag, this place offers lots of great experiences.
This is a great place to discover up and coming artists & offers music from a variety of artists. They support local musicians and I have even seen Dave Matthews there. This place is an institution, crucial to the culture of Charlottesville. And in recent years, they have expanded their alcohol selection. Nothing feels overpriced here.

Saw a show here. Great intimate venue.

Love this place for its free open mic stand up nights. They also have more nationally know comics come in periodically and they do charge for those shows. The open mic is always a good time. Winston and Alan do a nice job warming up the crowd and doing their own set. Takes a lot of guts to get up and try out your material, especially as a newbie to stand up. The beer selection is good and they have a decent menu to order from during the show.
