South and Central

Dinner at this restaurant last Monday was a real joy. To start, we loved the high ceilings, fresh open dining space, and lovely art that filled the far (south) wall of the restaurant. All the food we ordered was truly delicious. Side items were also served in an easy-to-share way. The musicians that came in and played guitar that night were outstanding and made the dinner an exceptional night out! The good news is that they play there regularly every Monday evening, so I recommend going then. Only warning is that dinner is very pricey, but not unreasonable for what you get.

Food was cold, but good.. we watched the expo hold another tables food in the window without calling a waitress for minutes. Pretty expensive place to be getting cold broccolini and yucca fries. Our server was great tho!

This place is a must go! The skirt steak was phenomenal. I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. Excellent wine, whiskey, beer selection. The server was very knowledgeable and seemed to know the menu front to back. 10s across the board. We will definitely be back!

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Milkman’s Bar, with South & Central providing the food. We were so excited about this event because we love South & Central’s foods. We worked with Kate to pick out a menu for our event, and she made sure that the majority of the dishes would fit each of our guests’ dietary restrictions.

The evening of our event, we were upset because of a lapse in communication that led to nothing being prepared for our guests. However, after figuring out what had happened, the staff went out of their way to make sure that the guests had plenty to eat and drink. They were polite and apologetic and did what they could to correct their mistake. They prepped delicious food, quickly, and made sure that some of it still fit our allergens. The drinks that the Milkman’s Bar made were wonderful and our guests definitely enjoyed them. The staff’s hospitality shone throughout the evening, and has continued to do so in our follow-up interactions. All in all, I honestly think the evening ended up better than what we had originally planned.

Absolutely amazing meal from provoleta appetizer to bison rib entrée to bread pudding dessert. 100% recommend it all!

Service not good , place not overly busy , 3 hours to get in and out, orders were confused , food decent , but way over priced , spent 255.00 for dinner for two and kept our meals off the high end menu ! OMHO better places in town, sorry

My girlfriends and I chose to come to South and Central for a Friend’s Holiday Brunch meal. We each ordered the skirt steak meal dish that included a vessel that reminded me of the masa that tamales are wrapped in. We also ordered a stuffed French toast with cinnamon ice cream and a raspberry compote. While the brunch options were limited, we had no complaints at all in regards to the flavor of the food. I would definitely come back if it were not for the extremely poor service and professionalism, not on our server’s part, but on the manager’s part. We watched as parties who’d come after us had their meal and settled up and left. A person in our party had initially paid cash but after waiting almost 45 minutes as we watched our server request change from the manager (at least 3 times) who appeared to be engaged in ridiculously long conversations with not 1 party but 2, we resorted to flagging servers down. We stopped 4 of the staff at different times to inquire about the hold up and ask to settle our bill. The staff all seemed to be extremely embarrassed and apologetic, while the manager was oblivious. We finally paid the bill with a card since paying with cash appeared to be the holdup, as only a manager with poor time management and/or customer service skills, was able to get change. It’s very unfortunate that this manager was on duty the day we were there because I’d easily give the restaurant 5 stars for the food, ambiance and the sheer instagrammable vibe of it all.

Love South and Central. Great atmosphere, very Instagrammable and the food is scrumptious.

My wife and I went to this place on Friday at 7pm and we waited for 15 minutes to seat at the bar which was the only spot available.

Caipirinha
The food took longer than we expected to be ready. But, considering a Friday and they were so busy, it was reasonable.
Everything tasted delicious. Full of flavors.
We consider going back but with reservation to be able to sit at a table.
Price is higher that other places on average.
Difficult to find a parking spot.
Very good for group of friends and coworkers. Servers at the bar not serving in a timely pace which was frustrating.
That was our experience.

Great esthetics, great service, AWESOME food. Great happy hour also.
