Great food and friendly service. Plenty of variety on the menu for breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend!!!

We had a delicious lunch there after a wonderful ski vacation --- and I left my purse. Panicked, I called Cafe on Main - the purse had been found and kept safe. Dreading a 7 hour round trip to retrieve it, the store offered to overnight it to me. It is now safely back in my hands. Thank you for a wonderful meal and first rate service!! We will be back!!

Greatest waffle I've ever had! I riden 280 miles to get here and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Bad service! Walked into the place empty and ordered one sandwich. Waited a while trying to be patient until I saw that multiple customers who came in way after I did were being served already. Went up to ask what was going on and they half-heartedly apologized for the wait. Said something about the tickets being messed up. So, if I never went to ask would they just let me wait forever? I didn't really get it since I was the first one to order, and ended up as the last customer to be served. Also told me I could wait outside as if that would make a difference. It felt pretty rude honestly. Mistakes happen, but when you get the feeling that they don't want to own up to them and give a meaningful apology to their customers when they make those mistakes it's just not a great way to do business.

Very solid breakfast to go that hit the spot right before skiing. The pastries looked awesome too, but I didn't get a chance to try them. Next time! They do also have some gluten free pastries available

The BLT is indeed the best in town... And I have tried them all. It is a bit pricey ($11 for a sandwich) but it is Stowe, VT so you will get that. Definitely a must stop

Cafe on main has good breakfast and great sandwiches and soups. I think soup is underrated and cafe on main has some seriously awesome soups. Definitely check it out when you’re in town. Plus you can shop around at the local stores before/after eating.

We have been coming to Stowe for many years and we make it a point to stop in for a sandwich, specifically #2, the turkey! This year we met the owner when he noticed from across the cafe that my 6 year old son was less than pleased with his choice of sandwich. He brought him up to the counter and spoke to him about what type of sandwich he would like and made him a new one free of charge. That type of kindness is something I try to teach my sons everyday. Thank you for noticing and thank you for making our day.

We visited this café today and both the menu was just an average looking menu with your typical sandwich and soup options I decided on getting the turkey pesto sandwich. It was OK, nothing special just what you can imagine a turkey sandwich being. The reason for this post is for the terrible service. I witnessed a customer waiting for an unacceptable amount of time for his food. First the woman behind the counter told the people ordering including myself to go outside and wait by the window which we did. After standing for close to 30 minutes they open the window calling everyone except us (some of which came in after us) her name which indicates your order is ready. She open the window and told the man would he mind moving away from the window. His response was would you mind telling me where my food is? She responded with a smart rude explanation as to the fact they are busy and it is a popular town in New England blah blah blah which wasn’t his question. She proceeded to call other people by name ignoring him again and finally when she brought his food to the window she open the window toss the bag out and slammed it shut. Needless to say he was not happy. He knocked on the window and thanked them with attitude of course and proceeded to walk away where she opened the window screamed at him to get off the property that she was going to call the police etc. it was the most bizarre ridiculous situation ever. Next thing you know police cars seriously are arriving the woman actually called the police. This café hires very unstable people who might need to make an appointment with a psychiatrist. In all honesty I would not return to this place.

Yummiest chicken salad in town! These guys are doing a great job with great food, despite tough times, every changing guidelines and poorly behaved tourists. 5 stars for Cafe on Main!
