Quest for Philly Cheesesteak Holy Graal continues... 1st - a little disclosure... Up until this labor of love began, the only Cheesesteak I had in this town for years was here. Been quite awhile (2 - 3 years) so I went back and gave them a shot. First. . BEST PRICE POINT - make that an incredible price point if you count inflation these days ! (Note Fries or salad come with the sandwich). Next - the sandwich delivers the goods. Very close to an authentic Philly... and was delicious. Is it the best? Nope, but pretty damn good and definitely comparable to DP down on Bluff. However I give 5 stars based on bang for your buck. What a deal.. Staff very friendly as well. Note no issue with takeout as packaging does the job and secures the sandwich. Some places (review was revised of said place to protect the innocent) use single wrapped aluminum foil type material which creates a disaster. So highly recommend especially for those on a budget. Actual sandwich like DP (but not the same.. they are uniquely different) gets 4 stars in my book. Peace out

We generally go for breakfast. The food is hit and well prepared. You don't go to Bishops to dine, The food is good, the servers are great, the atmosphere, passable. They don't serve dinner.

I had the Grilled chicken salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Delicious! My husband had the single biscuit and gravy. He said that was the best he's had in a long time!

The food was pretty good, not incredible - except for the cinnamon roll. They are ginormous and so cheap!! We feasted on this roll for two days. I'll stop in every time I'm visiting from out of town, just to get one of these.
The service was really good, the waitresses were really nice.

Stopped in for lunch today. Server said they hand bread their chicken fried steak. Ordered it. Came out fast. Knew something was wrong then. Because it takes at least 8 minutes to bread and fry. Sure enough it was burnt on the outside and bloody on inside. Not sure why restaurants in the area cannot make a good chicken steak. Maybe it's a Texas thing...lol. Anyway server came by and asked how it was. Told her terrible. Showed her it was burnt on the outside and bloody on inside. She said oh I'm sorry and walked off, no offer to replace or offer something else. Needless to say probably won't come back.

I've always loved Bishop's. Their serving sizes are generous and the biggest thing is their prices are FAIR for the amount of food you get as opposed to a franchise like Applebee's or Denny's. This is the best breakfast place in town and place to bring a family for a Saturday breakfast. One of my favorites in town.
