Moore's Family Restaurant (The Original)

I've never been in Ogden other than passing by on the freeway but I was in town and thought about getting some breakfast so I just chose this place randomly and was not disappointed. Everyone was very friendly and the service was prompt. Will definitely come back someday.

This cozy little cafe has a great cabin/country Western vibe to it. The staff is on point with their coffee game and their pancakes are the best I've had so far. They are open for breakfast and lunch, not dinner. They make their own salsa and to say I'm picky about my salsa is an understatement, they did not disappoint! Kid friendly and sectioned off well for those who want a more private dining experience. Highly recommended this cafe!!

My family and I have been customers of this restaurant for years and enjoy the food well the last couple of times we've gone it's been a horrible experience customer service is horrible, today we went in 20 minutes before the restaurant closed and as we walked in a waitress embarrassed us in front of everyone there stated the grill was closed and basically to leave. I personally understand the want of an employee to want to go home but as a business you don't do that to a customer especially when your sign states you close at 2! Not at 1:40pm I will not be going to this location anymore !

Ended up getting over it and have been going back since the review above . The food is amazing always you can say my family and friends are constantly coming easily once a week . Well the customer service needs improvement the newer waitresses are amazing but the ones who have been there for years can be so rude just today I experienced the waitress being rude to the table aside from mine just making it uncomfortable when the customer was never rude and he just received attitude and this isn’t the first time I experience that, as a former waitress I just don’t see how that’s ok . Do better in hiring better customer

Highlights: food poisoning, tiny portions, terrible service, bad price for food, flavorless entrees, even worse ingredients

Wife and I went in since reviews were so great. Absolutely the worst experience we have ever had. Seriously considered just leaving once we got our food. We were welcomed by a woman who yelled at us to just find a place to sit “over there”. So we wander over to that section and about 2 minutes later the same woman comes over and asks us if we have placed our orders yet. No, obviously we haven’t, we have only been yelled at to find our own seat, no menu distributed, no waitress introduced.

A different woman comes by and gives us the menu. The menu is not what it is on the website, it has about half the number of items on it than google suggests. We overheard a waitress saying she used to know the menu by heart but it has changed twice in the last year, presumably because this “restaurant” is burning out of business like a dying star.

We order our food. My wife’s comes out about 5 minutes before mine. It’s supposed to be a skillet but it’s actually a cheap layered dish: undercooked hash browns, scrambled eggs, a slice of Kraft fake cheese, some thawed out frozen bell peppers, and canned mushrooms. This is an $11 dish. The toast, which was supposed to be sourdough, was white bread. When my wife pointed this out the waitress went and swung a bag of bread around insisting it was sourdough, she toasted it herself, it’s just that “our sourdough bread doesn’t really taste that sourdough”. Really? So then don’t advertise that you have sourdough if your sourdough is actually old crusty white bread. She was also kind enough to butter it with that fake movie popcorn butter that sits in your stomach for hours without digesting.

Finally I got my meal, which was just as disappointing as my wife’s. None of the waitresses were wearing their masks properly, not covering their nose, and when we let them know that the food was very bad the only thing the waitress could say was “Oh that’s too bad”. Which was the most reasonable thing any of them said the whole time.

Don’t waste your money in this dirty little decrepit hole. I don’t understand how so many reviews could let us down so hard. It wasn’t just a bad day, this restaurant is bad from front of house to the grill, and everyone who we saw working there acts like they don’t want to be there. So why would anyone else?

Standard American breakfast dinner. Good service, prices are decent.

Consistently excellent, fast service, friendly employees, it feels like a mom-and-pop establishment. Prices for the servings are fair, and the place is clean. Well done!

Oh lord. This was gross. Very expensive and just a complete disappointment.
I got a vegetarian skillet and it was so nasty the vegetables tasted like oil but we’re not all the way cooked the mushrooms were sour and looked like they came from a can or a jar and the coffee was basically brown water.
I literally did not like a single item I ordered I can not understand how it was so bad with such a simple dish.

Awesome old style family restaurant where you get friendly service and good value. My son and I had a late breakfast here and found the food to be delicious and the service exceptional.

Highly recommended!

We were seated swiftly. The waitress was prompt n friendly, and came back multiple times during our meal to check on us. Three food tasted fresh n very good. The pricing is reasonable, since we're feeding 2 growing boys
